    The Big 4 in Miami?

Miami Heat mastermind Pat Riley just might be on the verge of adding another superstar to his Big Three. According to ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst and Marc Stein : Sources told ESPN...

I could see this happening if Carmelo is willing to take that pay cut. He said he wants to win - that leaves out the Knicks.

He, along with LBJ/Wade/Bosh, would have to take sizable pay cuts to make it an option.

It all hinges on whether Melo wants the max deal or the best opportunity to win a championship ASAP.

LETS GO HEAT!! i hope melo goes there and the NBA goes bankrupt. Because there wouldnt be any point to watch any eastern conference team or pay for a ticket thats for sure. Lock them into the Finals every year. might as well contract the rest of the eastern confernce so the rest of the league isnt watered down with shit bags. The heat will be like the harlem globe trotters. Every would want to see them even know they know noone can ever beat them.

            currently salaries

            Melo: 21m

            LBJ: 19M

            Bosh: 19m

            Wade: 18m

            Total: 77m

            Cap: 63.2m

The four of them need to cut about 14m combined and that doesnt even include the other 8 players....

              the cap dont matter
Brooklyn $102,589,967 payroll this season. Way over the cap just pay the luxary tax.

If the 4 of them would all play for about 15-16 then they could definitely swing it. Shit would be ridiculous though.

This would be lame. I hope the NBA blocks this. James winning championships with Wade and Bosh already feels a bit dirty and adding Melo would only make James' legacy feel even more bought.

I just started to get some interest back with how the Wizards did, to the point I will tune in next year and possibly get to a game or two. This would certainly cause my interest to drop again in the long run. Cap is supposed to provide parity, so that issue needs to get fixed. The NBA can't block it, as it's perfectly within the rules they are playing under, and they can pay the luxury tax.

An argument could be made that Wade is simply not that player anymore. Frankly, I think the Heat's big 3 in this setup would be James, Anthony and Bosh. Bosh adapted to his role, but Wade simply isn't the player he once was and never will be again because of age and injuries.
Frankly, as cold as it sounds, if the Heat somehow land Anthony they need to say goodbye to Dywane Wade.

Wade isnt going anywhere. Rumor was even if Lebron left Miami he is taking Wade with him.

You guys realize that the Spurs are 4 missed free throws away from having swept the current Heat "super" roster, right?

Yes, I usually dismiss a team's greatness when they fail to three-peat. Anyone can win back-to-back titles.

Miami is a power outage away from having the series tied at 2-2.

The Heat shouldn't have even won back to back titles. A perfect storm of good fortune had to go their way in game 6 of last years Finals when the Spurs had a 95.6% chance of winning by being up by 5 points with 28 seconds remaining.
