    Top 5 Active Shooting Guards

Since the last one ended up in a good debate over Rondo's talent (or lack there of ;) lol jp) let's see what we can get out of this one.

    1. Kobe Bryant
    2. Dwyane Wade
    3. Manu Ginobili
    4. Joe Johnson
    5. Ray Allen

No real surprises in my list imo. First three seem to be set in stone, then again I thought CP3 and Deron Williams as the top 2 PGs were set in stone but evidently there's some retards roaming these boards.

Joe Johnson can do everything offensively and is more physical than Ray Allen on offense, that's why I put him at 4. Neither outplays the other on defense by much.

Allen gets on there because on any other team he could be averaging 25+ points per game while still shooting in the high 40s from the field with all of those long range shots, but he has to share the ball with Pierce and KG.

For arguments sake, I'm considering Kevin Durant a small forward.

The reason T-Mac doesn't make my list is because a) you are screwed for the playoffs if he's on your team, b) he's injured way too much, c) he's been horrible this past season.

Notables for me would be Brandon Roy, Kevin Martin, Michael Redd, Vince Carter, and Tracy McGrady as the next closest to the top.

I can't put Wade over Kobe. Even though Kobe doesn't have the defensive stats that Wade has, Kobe is still a lock down defender (has been all-defense how many times?). As far as offense goes, Kobe can score from anywhere on the court any time he wants to. Wade is still an average (at best) three pointer shooter.

As far as Wade averaging more points per game, that doesn't matter to me. Everyone is quick to admit that the rest of the Heat suck, so of course he is going to have to score a lot. Kobe's supporting cast is one of the tops in the league as far as scoring goes, so of course he can be more of a facilitator than scorer for 3/4ths of the game.

Though I agree with you somewhat, Martin did play a couple playoff games a few years back against San Antonio, and he hit a game winner in game 4 to tie the series. May not be the most meaningful game since they were an 8 seed and lost the series but... just wanted to point that out.

Honestly though Martin's not near my top 5 list of SGs though, I'm just not a fan of his quircky shot and I don't think he can lead a team.

My top 5 would be something like this:

              1. Bryant
              2. Wade
              3. Roy
              4. Johnson
              5. Allen
Finally back after a 3 year hiatus!

There isn't as much debate with SG's it seems as to who are the premier ones in the league, almost everyone has the same 6-7 guys.

                  Mine is:
                  1. Kobe
                  2. Wade
                  3. Roy
                  4. JJ
                  5. Ray Ray

Are we not counting Durant as a SG in these? Because if not, why is everyone leaving him out?

                        My rankings (with KD):

                        Kobe
                        Wade
                        Durant
                        Joey
                        BRoy

Slide Vince Carter, Kevin Martin or Ginobili into the 5 spot and bump everyone up if ya'll don't view Durant as a true SG.

Green actually plays at power forward for the Thunder.
