    Fisher and Alston suspended

Orlando Magic guard Rafer Alston and Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher have each been suspended one game without pay for their roles in separate incidents on Wednesday night.

Orlando Magic guard Rafer Alston and Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher have each been suspended one game without pay for their roles in separate incidents on Wednesday night, Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations announced on Thursday.

Alston has been suspended for swinging and making contact with the head of the Celtics' Eddie House with 48.6 seconds remaining in the third quarter of the Magic's 112-94 loss to the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Fisher has been suspended for striking Houston's Luis Scola with his shoulder and head in the third quarter of the Lakers' 111-98 win last night over the Rockets in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Fisher received a flagrant foul two and was ejected.

Jackson also announced that the Lakers' Kobe Bryant has been assessed a flagrant foul one for elbowing Houston's Ron Artest in the chest area in the fourth quarter.

Alston will serve his suspension on Friday when the Magic host the Celtics. Fisher also will serve his suspension on Friday when the Lakers visit the Rockets.

Nope, that's bullshit to suspend Fisher. It's the playoffs, let these guys play. Emotions are high in the playoffs and there's too much on the line for them to be suspending people for running through picks. That's just BS I might as well be watching little league basketball if they're going to treat NBA pros like little kids.

If they start reffing the game the way they did at the end of game 2 I'm not going to be able to bear watching such a pussified version of the sport.

Alston's little slap on the head gets a suspension.

Kobe's elbow to Ron Artest's throat not only doesn't get him ejected (as it states in the rulebook - any elbow that lands above the shoulders is an immediate ejection), but it isn't as bad as Alston slapping the back of House's head?!?

God, I hate Kobe more and more everyday. Fuck the NBA.

Getting ejected wasn't enough already? It was a shoulder to the chest, big deal. If anyone should be suspended it should be Scola for allowing a PG to put him on his ass like that in the first place.

It wasn't in the act of a basketball move. He elbowed him in the face for no reason. He's lucky he only got a one game suspension. Alston deserved his 1 game suspension too. They probably wouldn't suspend Kobe if he did that because of the hit they'd take in ratings.

smh at the NBA having no consistency or logical basis for how/why they suspend people

Are you serious? If the shit Fisher did was allowed, there would be fights left and right.

I really dont get how Alston was suspended for a slap...but Rondo can throw Hinrich into the scorers table and not get suspended.

I dont even want to hear that Rondo's wasnt bad. it def. wasnt a basketball move, and it was obvious he was trying to hurt Kirk.

I can understand alston getting suspended, dude did slap him in the head, but still boggles rondo never even got a fine for all of his antics, NBA is so inconsistent with everything it really makes games difficult to watch
