Maurice Claretts wants another shot at the NFL

    Who the hell knows.

I doubt it, but it wouldn't surprise me if he works out with some teams and gets an invite to training camp or something.

The Clarett fiasco was old then, it's still old now. Maurice needs to get it in his head that he has his shot and blew it, not once, but twice. The NFL told him he couldn't enter and tried anyways despite the NFL, Ohio State and some close friends telling him to go to college for just one more year. That's all it would've taken, he jumped at the chance and missed.

A year later he's out of shape and has a poor showing. He gets selected to the Denver Broncos a system that produces 1,000 yard running backs and he got cut before the season started, if I remember correctly. Dude is a joke, his head wasn't right then and what makes you think prison is going to make his head right now?

Did he have talent? Yes. Did he have a drive to be a great football player? Yes. Did he make the smartest decisions off the field? No. And that's what's going to keep him off the field.

Clarett would be the publicity that league needs to get started. They'd be wise to send him a contract.

I appreciate the fact the he seems motivated, but I don't see him making it in the league. Runningbacks are a dime a dozen....erase and replace,,,etc..so IMO he'd have a hard way to go trying to make an NFL roster.

The kid had a lot of talent. I'll never forget his game against Miami. He was dumb then and is probably dumb now although i do have a soft spot for people who need another chance. I don't think his future will be in the NFL though.

I would invite him to camp....why not. Lets see if he can still play.

Through it all.. I still support Maurice Clarett. He may be a complete fuck-up, but once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye (Especially when you win us a NC).

No he didn't. If he had the drive to be a great player, he wouldn't have come into the combine overweight, and wouldn't have basically ruined his chance in Denver.

I'm all for giving some a second chance, but they need to show they've learned from their mistakes.

                        My opinion:

Who wants an ex-con, 26 year old running back who hasn't played a down in 7 years and has only one year over college ball under his belt, and was injury prone in that one season?

Meant to say "he played one year of college ball", referring to his frosh campaign at Ohio State.
