As a Lions fan, some of the aquisitions we made have been either really good or really bad, either or, but like everyone has said basically, it's a stepping stone.

When the schedule first came out, i thought we could get 5-6 wins, but then looking at the teams again and again, their acquisitions and departures, stuff like that, i got it down to maybe 3-4, although hoping for a Miami turnaround. lol.

This has already been hell for Lions fans since Millen's taken over and now that he's gone, i think we're in store for a couple more years of just shitty play.

      RIP West

And to think our dipshit fans wanted 0-16. Yeah, producing a great turnaround as the laughingstock of the entire sporting community even more than we were, being stuck with Ford Sr.

I think many of the FA pickups will at least provide a solid foundation to bring the team back around, but 3 wins sound about right. I'm still not happy with the Pettigrew pick at all, but obviously I'm going to have to live with it. At least our second round pick is generating buzz for his play so far in the pre-season workouts.

I'm guessing 2-3 wins for us this season. I am thinking it will be another 2 years before we smell .500.

Mark my words we are winning the division and there fofense wasnt horrid to watch last year. Yea it sucked but it was exciting seeing them throw Calvin Johnson a bomb and seeing him do his thang.

No, no we aren't. We have major offensive line issues, no real quarterback, Kevin Smith will either do real well or real bad, only one legitimate receiving threat, and did I mention not having a real quarterback?

Defensively, we don't even have a decent defensive tackle, who knows what our defensive ends will do, Ernie Sims constantly over runs the ball carrier, Larry Foote is unproven outside of Pitt, Julian Peterson is aging, our secondary added like two old guys and Delmas, and we aren't a deep defensive team.

So how the fuck are we winning the division when this team really isn't that much different from last year. I hate to be pessimistic but I mean everything I just listed is a real concern.

Oh and other posters, Buzzman was the retard who said Jon Kitna was a man amongst boys. Seriously GTFO out of here with your shitty ass Madden 09 football knowledge.

                What the fuck?

Ignore our lack of safety's, o-line, d-line, and proven quarterback.

A little optimistic, eh? Your basing the Lions winning the division off of Calvin Johnson alone? Like DSpydr said, they made strides in the offseason to become a better team, but it will still take years for them to become a playoff caliber team.

You don't know how much shit I get for being a Lions fan, but I'm not a fair-weathered fan. ;)

They could've beat the Packers last year, but, Orlovsky would NOT get the ball to CJ.

They also could've beaten the Vikings, Panthers, and Bucs.

                      Also, nice gamertag.

Im not gonna lie. I liked Jon kitna and thought he was alright but he just couldnt handle it mentally. And idc how bad your o-line is. Of course they are gonna allow a lot of sacks if every QB we've had the last 10 years hangs onto the ball for 10 seconds. Our o-line isnt as bad as people think. We added Janson this off-season. He could really help out and Cherilus got a year under his belt. He should be much better. The G Loper we got is 10x better then any guard we ahd last year. I really believe our line is a lot better this year. With Pettigrew, if he gives us anything out of the TE spot expect Johnson or Curry to step up and have a good year. We havent got production out of the TE spot in years and if teams have to pay any attention to the TE while having to double Calvin, Curry and Johnson should get 1 on 1 coverage. Kevin Smith should do a lot better this eyar if we dont run that crap zone blcoking we did last year. For our QB spot, we just need a QB that wont lose us games. Is Stafford that guy? idk we'ff find out.

For defense, just by getting rid of Barry and that shit defense they call Tampa 2 makes our Defense 4x better. With a more routine 4-3 defense Sims will be a great LB. Im not worried about Foote being unproven outside Pitt, hes still better then lenon. Avril, White, and Devires are nice solid DEs. Our secondary is unknown. i cant tell you shit. I know running that shit Tampa 2 didnt help. None of the CBs were made to play that shit. Most of them cant tackle. Our saftey spot, well everything I hear says that Delmas is the real deal and Bullucks and Pearsom will split time. The ony thing I agree on is yes we dont have a DT for the life of us but I havent given up on Fluenen(sp?)
