Titans RB Chris Johnson Fined $10K For Celebration

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson has been fined $10,000 for his celebration after a 66-yard touchdown run against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFL said Thursday Johnson was fined for unsportsmanlike conduct for banging on some drums in the Chiefs' pep band during Sunday's 34-10 victory. He was penalized 15 yards at the time.

"I am not happy about it," Johnson told reporters Thursday. "I knew I was going to get a fine, but I am totally upset about how much. I am going to appeal. There's no fun in this league. I was trying to have fun and they want to penalize us for having fun."

Damn the NFL needs to lighten up on this shit. Fining him 10k is retarded..

The celebration made me laugh at the time, didn't really think much of it at the time.

Don't see how banging on drums is a problem. Even the pep band let him to do, that's the funny part.

But he did say "I knew I was going to get fined", so even if he hates it, he had the intelligence to avoid it all-together. There was no surprises.

If you're scoring TouchDowns in the NFL $10,000 is nothing.

            Keep it up guys.

What happened to all the fun in the NFL? I guess the NFL just wants you to hand the ball to the ref every time and become robots.

Its like a dictatorship, you cant say anything bad about the league you cant go against the league and you cant express yourself in anyway. Soon they will want everyone to be named Joe Smith and look the same.

Most people that watch, watch because they love the game itself.

I'm not for or against the celebration rules, but rules are rules. If you know you are gonna get the fine, either don't do it or accept the fine and don't bitch.

I guess it's different for everyone, but for me the excitement is in the game and the touchdowns themselves. Its not like if i see Chris Johnson banging on some drums I get all excited and think "oh thats so cool". Not only can that celebration hurt your wallet, but it can hurt your team if you get penalized.

Not really sure how celebrations take a football game to a new level, but to each his own.
