    3 Favorite Coaches

Hijacking this from another forum I visit. I thought it was a good topic for debate. This is YOUR 3 FAVORITE coaches. Not who you think is the best - who you like the most. It can be current and former coaches, college coaches, etc.. My 3 favorites are listed below:

    1. Jon Gruden - no explanation needed on my part

    2. Paul Brown - innovator and introduced a lot of "revolutionary" concepts that are still used in pro football today (i.e. mic in qb's helmet, west coast offense, etc.)

    3. Don Shula - Only 2 losing seasons in 33 years of coaching and a class-act. I don't see anyone surpassing 347.
Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008

    1. Tony Dungy - Coach of the only one of my favorite teams to win a title since I've been alive. He'll likely be #1 to me forever.
    2. Bill Parcells - I just love the guy. Nearly everytime I hear him talk I end up laughing.
    3. Bill Cowher - Hate the Steelers but I've always liked 'the chin'.

Mike Smith- has said and done all the right things so far in Atlanta. Is the type of leader I like, quiet, strong, and confident. Doesn't take shit, but doesn't treat his players like idiots either.

Mike Tomlin- the only coach I love more than Mike Smith. This guy is the most candid and informative interviewee the league has right now. I love hearing this guy do post-game press conferences.

Jeff Fisher- gets results, doesn't wear long sleeves. I like it.

                          wow just 3 is tough...

Chuck Knoll - 4 rings and he bascially built the steelers into what they have been since the 70's

Bill Parcells - He built 5 teams (NYG, NYJ, The pats, the cowboys and now the phins). If Jerry Jones would have left him be Dallas would have beat Pittsburgh to 6 rings.

Vince Lombardi - I read a story once where a player brought in a lawyer to help negotiate his contract with Lombardi. The coach excused himself and wnet into the other room for 5 minutes. When he came back the lawyer began speaking ann Vince stopped him and said "You will have to speak to the Redskins abouty his deal, I just traded him for some equipment." That is just pure badassery.

I love the confidence bordering on arrogance that these guys exude. They're all well prepared and never seem to be overwhelmed, but allow their players to play with a freedom to make plays.
