    Linebacker Rennie Curran.

teams are overlooking him due to his height but his instincts and will are unbelievable. He is always around the ball and is just a playmaker

He was first team All Big 12. Not an All American. But I'll try again anyway seeing as you recognize the guy.

Great catching the ball, good vision, decent speed. Helu+Castille should make for a good 1-2 punch.

I love the arm action... very live, good snap, great follow through, good use of the body, especially on one of those early plays in the vid where he's scrambling left and turns to throw. Wish I could make out his wrist action in that video, but judging by the spiral he put on it, it's solid. Low release, which I guess isn't a big deal for a guy who's 6'9", but he'd get more velocity if he's get his arm extended more.

ASU always seems to find these big pocket QBs that nobody else notices, but now they've found one with some mobility. Should be interesting how this guy translates.

              Ok for real this time...

Jake Stoneburner - TE - The Ohio State University.

Stoneburner is but one name on a deep WR depth chart.

Or at least he was, until Ohio State moved him to TE this winter. There are divergent opinions on this subject, with some fans quite angry, hoping that Stoneburner would become a big down field target, blending a rare package of size and speed. And, many felt he would be a great option in the corner of the end zone, being employed kind of like Terrelle Pryor was in the Fiesta Bowl against Texas.

In case you're not familiar with Ohio State football. We're "Wide Receiver U". Don't believe me? In 1995 first-time starter Terry Glenn had to step in for future NFL receivers Joey Galloway and Chris Sander. Who moved onto the NFL, that year he just happened to win the Award for the country’s top wide receiver.

Chris Carter, David Boston, Anthony Gonzalez, Ted Ginn Jr., Santonio Holmes, Drew Carter, Brian Robiskie, the list goes on and on and on, you get the picture?

So what did Tressel do with this new pair of hands wearing number 11? Put him at a position that is normally a glorified tackle at Ohio State. You call bullshit? I say look at the numbers.

2008 - All of 11 catches by the tight end (6 to Nichol; 5 to Ballard)! Brandon Smith did catch 8 balls but those were all out of the backfield as a fullback.
2007 - A whopping total of 32 catches (16 to Nichol; 13 to Ballard; and
              3 to Smith)
2006 - 15 catches by our tight ends (13 to Nichol; 2 to Ballard).

Which is why no one is looking at this kid. Rich Rod is trying to build a spread offense in Michigan. You don't think Jim Tressel and Ohio State would adjust? They've been trying to do it since 2006 when Florida tore them apart. We almost got it right a year later but LSU beat us as we didn't have the pieces, for the scheme to work. Not in a year of recruiting do you get those pieces.

Ohio State in employing a new offense. Terrell Pryor is throwing the ball much better than the end of last season. Ohio State has one "power" running back and he's third on the depth chart. If you count wide receivers and now TE Stoneburner. That's 5-6 targets for Terrel Pryor to throw to, and your already spreading the defense out to a guy whose a meal on wheels, good luck to the rest of the Big Ten!

If Jim Tressel can let up on "choking" the offense, with too much run game. Ohio State is going to steam roll teams starting September 5th, against Navy.

i think Josh Haden from BC will have a surprising year.

Also was going to say Mark Herzlich, but his status for this year is up in the air after being diagnosed with cancer.

Here's some random guys, off of the top of my head, from schools that don't get alot of national press, who people should be talking about:

                  Mardy Gillyard WR Cinncinati
                  Robert Griffith QB Baylor
                  Jerry Hughes DE TCU
                  Case Keenum QB Houston
                  Greg Romeus DE Pittsburgh
                  DeAndre Brown WR Southern Miss
I've heard of all of them and its Robert Griffin

Lahey, I took as "not getting talked about". Everyone is hi up on Terrel Pryor, DeVier Posey, Ray Small, and Dane Sanzenbacher. No one is talking about Jake Stoneburner outside the Heartland. At least in the circles I travel.

Your list was good, don't get me wrong. Thank you for the shout out to Mardy Gillyard. Hopefully Cincinnasty continues recent success and be not known solely as a Basketball School.

                          Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse
                          - Had 60 tackles, 13 for a loss, 3.5 sacks and seems to be the one bright spot of Syrcauses defense. Look for him to have another big year but not get much press because of where he plays.
