Favre throws for Vikings OC Bevell

    :youmad:

I have my fingers crossed that he's healthy and still able enough to keep Safeties deep. The team is simply missing a quarterback, we have a legitimate chance with Favre so the move gets a sure thumbs up. Perhaps even a double thumbs up because it pisses off the Pack so much.

As a Broncos fan, I am happy that the Packers decided not to put up with Favre's bullshit last season and elected to go with Rodgers. Rodgers is going to have a great career in Green Bay. He did well last year for his 1st full season. Green Bay would have been in the playoffs but the defense choked. As for Farve, I hate his guts, he is way overrated now, he was good earlier in his career, but he should of retired about 4-5 years ago. I dont know why the media loves him so much(other than to get a story), honestly he is not that good. I sadly had to watch more Jets games than i could bare in California(dont ask why we got Jets games in california) but Favre has lost it, too many times last eyar did I see him just lob it up and somehow Coles or Cotchery came down with it

He is now the enemy. I won't like him as long as he wears that uniform. And even after this season, its gonna take a long time for me to forget. My respect level for Brett still exists, but it will never be the same. He's ruined his relationship with Green Bay, Lambeau, and the fans.

I wish he had been allowed to stay one more season in Green Bay and then retired on his own terms but Ted Thompson bungled that and traded Favre to the Jets instead of the Bucs out of spite. Now Favre gets a chance to rub Ted's nose in it twice this season. Will that happen? I don't know but if his arm is repaired and looks like it did through week 10 of last season, the Vikings could win the division. Not just because Favre is going there but because they really only lack a decent QB. The defense and running game are known entities in Minnesota right now.

              I'm loving this SO much

I was never a fan of Brett before, yet after this ordeal and actually watching him play for the hometown team, its clear that the guy can still play. He played great ball for us in the beinning of the year and its clear that all he needs is a dome to play in and a good running game, both which he'll get in Minnesota.

The Vikes only need a QB to make them serious title contenders, and Favre can/will be the one to fill that role. He's the game manager that has played in their system for 15+ years and will be able to contribute right away.

essentially favre is doing for hte vikings what he SHOULD have been doin for the jets

poor coachin on the jets side of hte ball and an aging QB really hampered it.

when the mangina and the jets put the game in favre's arm vs. thomas jones' legs favre made mistakes. there was no reason for the jets not to run Jones... (plus i had him on my fantasy team and when he got hte carries he produced)

I think favre will help keep 8 outta the box, and even cut into Peterson's carries which will prob give him some good rest

If Brett still has his arm strength, he should help the Vikings. If he lost the strength in his arm, he won't do well. He always had horrible mechanics, and once his arm loses strength he's done (unless he changes the way he throws).

Brett's not the kind that will get by on throwing technique and smarts. He needs his arm to be solid. If he lost enough strength in his arm, those falling backwards throws will look UGLY.

He won't be playing outside in bad weather very much, this will help a great deal. He started to SUCK donkey in cold weather. It really was a good time for GB to move on.

Playing in a dome, strong arm, letting the run game carry the team, and he'll help the Vikings.

Brett fuckin retired. I'm tired of people saying TT did it to spite him, he traded him to the AFC and out of conference which was the smart thing to do. He fucked around and said he was done. Then expects everyone to conform when he decides he wants to come back. Brett's playing for the wrong reasons. He's a selfish old man these days.

                        Bill

I have to go with Tengo here. If Brett wanted to play one more season in GB, then Brett reallymessed up. I really think he retired because he wanted to leave GB. He waited until it was very late in the off season to change his mind. And then tried forcing GB into an out and out release. He wanted Minny from the beginning.

GB traded him to the other conference. A smart move when trading a player.

So did Michael Jordan (3 times vs. Favre's 1) but he was always welcomed back as opposed to Brett who was told he could not even compete for the starting job in training camp. Just a couple of months removed from a 13-3 season where he led the team to the NFC championship game that was pretty harsh and all but the people who blindly believe everything that comes out of TT's mouth believe that to be true. I'm guessing that is where you got your take on the situation.

Brett is playing for the same reason that he has always played...because he loves the game. Just like any other superstar does though, he has trouble for walking away from it.

Was it a smart move? Yes.

Should shit like that ever happened? NO. They caused shit when they turned down a HOF player who can still play. Its not like he didnt have the toolset or motivation to play another season. He obviously did, hell he might play another season, because he can.

I dont care how long you have Aaron Rodgers waiting, you don't say no to a HOF QB who is still good, just because you feel its time to change the face of the team. Well, you can say yes, but you have to be willing with the concequences.

Come on man. He didn't decide to come back to GB (right at the start of training camp) until after bashing GB on his Greta infomercial, trying to force GB to release him. Brett F'd up if he really wanted to come back to GB.

GB wasn't his first choice. Minny was. He finally made a decision to come back to GB when it was clear that TT would not give him an out and out release.

Not even close to a Jordan come back.
