It was a time away from the game example, nothing more.

But I guarantee this - in a year, no one will want Kitna or McGee over Vick. And that's all I'm trying to say.

Vick isn't 38. He's 29. And he's an elite athlete who has been through hell personally. If that doesn't motivate someone, I don't know what will.

I hate sounding like a Vick fan, because I'm not. What he did to those dogs was despicable.

But from a purely football point of view, I still think he can make a serious contribution.

That doesn't excuse what he did to those dogs, but dismissing him as inferior to Kitna is insane.
I'm not speaking to the future.

Not 2 weeks from now, not 2 years from now, not 2 decades from now.

Right now, would you take Kitna or Vick STRICTLY to back up Tony Romo?

I'm not even considering the off-field nonsense. Just on ability to competently play the position.

We don't need any speed gimmicks on offense right now either. We've got Felix Jones.

I just don't see how anyone can even think it's remotely possible this guy ends up in Dallas, especially when you consider the house-cleaning they just had this offseason. Even Greg Ellis' whiny ass got the boot.

      Like I wrote, I don't think he's a good fit for Dallas.

Your team has done the right thing, getting rid of all the jokers.

It's time to focus on just football.

But I think Vick could be a good fit somewhere. Oddly enough, I think New England would be a good fit. Injury insurance and the perfect lockerroom.

I doubt New England would do it, but I honestly believe the Pats would be a great fit for Vick. They could have him do some wildcat stuff, teach him the system, possibly make him trade bait for 2010.

Since Brett Favre just retired, he's obviously going to the Vikings...

HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Yeah, lets choose the team that has no problem attempting 60 passes per game and has one of the best WR tandems in the NFL with Moss and Welker. Can you imagine watching Vick trying to orchestrate the Patriots offense, making quick reads and trying to get the ball to Randy Moss? A team that recently set the all-time single season scoring record?

I say this on occasion, but this time I really mean it...that's possibly the dumbest football-related comment I've ever read on this forum.

If I were MV, I wouldn't worry about where I fit the best. I would find the team with the VERY BEST coaches who have a history of producing solid QB's. I would take a ONE YEAR minimum salary, be the third string guy if necessary (even with no chance to start) and work under the best QB coaches, and finally learn how to play the position,

And, then, next year, I would look for the best fit and try to position for a starting spot.

              Belichick could make it work.
And he wouldn't use a full playbook with Vick.

But why would Belichick choose to sign Vick and put himself into that position?

I don't think he would. I'm just saying, I think New England could be the right environment for Vick. Belichick could design a package for Vick that would give his team a wildcat formation and Brady a few plays off every game.
Vick would be on his best behaviour in that lockerroom, and if he was a success in his limited run with New England, could be decent trade bait.

Unless Vick was studying a playbook for 2 years he is pretty much worthless at QB besides a trick play or 2

He should return kicks, maybe get a wildcat play or 2, but to think he is anywhere near playing shape is crazy, he didnt even have a good work ethic when it was his full time job
