Funny how they are one of the worse fans in america and they'll boo anyone...so I'm not surprised by this...but those who overreact by crying, not supporting the team...grow a pair and STFU. You can not like the move but for those who take it to the extreme, that's wack.
Dude, those fools booed Dr.J - business as usual for Philly fans.

I'm listening to the press conference. IMO Philly is a good fit for him. I always believed he'd be best served to comeback with a well established organization with a tradition of winning, so this is a good fit.

Philly fans IMO try too hard to live up to the stereotype, so it will be interesting to see how he's treated. However, as mentioned once he makes a great play all will be forgotten. Anyone who says, "they won't support the team" are simply making this story about themselves. So forget them.

          He really does sound remorseful.

lol at crying, I hope those were female fans.

Why is it extreme for a fan to HATE this signing? Isn't it a fans right to be disgusted with their team? Why should fans have to STFU? Isn't it their right to show displeasure to something they strongly disagree with? Isn't it a fans right to not buy tickets?

Aren't you being a little extreme with your STFU?

I believe the issue is those "fans" who claim they will no longer support the team. Those overreacting "fans" do need to STFU, because everyone knows they'll continue to support the team and when Vick makes a play they'll be chearing him on. They should just get over themselves, because they aren't that important.

I disagree. If GB would have signed him, I would not be "Cheering" him even if he made a play. I wouldn't go to Lambeau for a game while he was with the team.

                  But....

I wouldn't be out protesting or going on camera either. I would watch GB on TV, but never cheer for MV, no-matter what play he may make. That's my right as a fan.

What he did was intentionally sick, and evil. It goes to the very core of ones character. I have the right to not cheer for him.

I also, always thought that, whatever Goodell decided about MV was OK with me. He is the commissioner, and MV served his time. I would have liked to see a Stallworth type 1 year suspension, but I'm fine w/ what Goodell has decided and will decide before week 6.

But it is my right, as a fan, to not cheer for someone, whether they are or are not on my team.

You are right.... it is your right as a fan to do whatever you would like. If you are the type that was so offended by what Vick did and feel the need to not attend games as a form of protest than fine. However, I would only ask that you be consistent with that. Hypothetically, if and when Vick were to make a play remember your morals, when your team is successful remember your morals.

Also understand while you are on your moral "high horse" the contradiction. You essentially would be boycotting your favorite team due to a decision that they made that goes against your morals . However, even after Vick is gone the decision that goes against your morals was still made. So, how could you support the organization any longer?

It has nothing to do with protesting. I said in my previous post that I would NOT be protesting. I would not attend games because I don't want to go in person, and see MV play for my team. It's not a protest, just a strong desire to not see it in person.

What do my morals have to do with my team being successful or me wanting my team to be successful?

What "moral high horse" are you referring to? Have we lowered our morals so drastically that it's OK to torture living beings? Is rape, murder OK too? Is being against these as well considered "moral high horse"? I just don't understand how you are making the "moral high horse" leap.

I have no beef w/ the Eagles signing him. If it would have been GB, I would have been greatly disappointed, but my beef is not with the team. I'm not, or would not be, against the team. They had every right to sign him, just like the Eagles did. I just don't want to, and will not cheer for, MV.

Again, why would I not be able to cheer for a team just because I don't cheer for a player? And where does "moral high horse" fit into this?

I never said he doesn't deserve a second chance. I never criticized Goodells decision to conditionally reinstate him. I never criticized the Eagles for signing him. I just said that the fans have a right to voice there displeasure and both they and I have a right to not cheer for him.

If you normally attend games and stop because your team signed Vick that is a form of protest (ie withholding your money).

What do my morals have to do with my team being successful or me wanting my team to be successful?
It applies, because if you are so morally just to refuse to attend games and support the team because of Vick then do not support the team when they are being successful with Vick.

What "moral high horse" are you referring to? Have we lowered our morals so drastically that it's OK to torture living beings? Is rape, murder OK too? .

Context my friend, context...take the comment within the context of the sentence. You mentioned, "core of ones character," which implies morality. If your morals prevent you from supporting a decision your team made and thus you choose not to attend games (protest) that remember that when the player is gone, because your morals should not change.

I have no beef w/ the Eagles signing him. If it would have been GB, I would have been greatly disappointed, but my beef is not with the team. I'm not, or would not be, against the team. They had every right to sign him, just like the Eagles did. I just don't want to, and will not cheer for, MV.
That contradicts your comment of, "I wouldn't go to Lambeau for a game while he was with the team." If you choose not to attend games then your, "beef is with the team." So, which is it?

Again, why would I not be able to cheer for a team just because I don't cheer for a player? And where does "moral high horse" fit into this?
                        Answered above.

I never said he doesn't deserve a second chance. I never criticized Goodells decision to conditionally reinstate him. I never criticized the Eagles for signing him. I just said that the fans have a right to voice there displeasure and both they and I have a right to not cheer for him.
Again, I don't have a problem with a fan choosing voice their opinion or having the right to not cheer for him. No one ever said a fan couldn't voice their opinion or had to cheer for him. However, the point is don't be over emotional and say things that you won't follow through on. Don't say, "I will no longer support the team" and than when the team is successful you're buying tickets and cheering for the team (and Vick).

I'm beginning to believe people are dumb. I'm listening to some local Philly radio station and they're trying to question the Eagles decision to bring in Vick. I don't have a problem with that; however, their reasoning for this is about as dumb as I've ever heard. They actually believe that Reid brought in Vick, because of what happened with his sons. The host are actually saying, "Reid needs to understand that he's a football coach and has to run a team....not a halfway house" They think Reid made this move, simply because he wanted to help Vick......people can't be this stupid can they? I'm hoping they're doing it for the ratings.
