    What If Scenario #1

Going to pose a series of "what if" questions that could possibly alter the realms of the NFL during a period of time, and possibly change the entire history of franchises or players. Your job is to respond with what you think would happen to certain players, teams, etc.

    What if question #1:

What if Rodney Harrison never injured Trent Green in the pre-season?

Ya, wow. Kurt Warner's career might've been over after a few years and Marshall Faulk might not be respected as the back he was, today. By which I mean he may never have achieved the success of winning a Super Bowl and so his legacy wouldn't be the same. Of course, it's just as possible that Trent Green would've become something greater than he did and led the Rams to a Super Bowl.

Junior Seau would have injured him instead.

Rams offense still would have been amazing, as there was a high level of excitement that summer on what was being seen in camp. They still would have turned things around, won the division, and gone to the playoffs.

But, I don't believe they would have won the SB. And I don't think anyone would know who Kurt Warner is today, as he probably would have faded from the league as an afterthought.

On the flip side, without having to restructure Warner's contract, maybe the Rams are able to keep guys like London Fletcher & Az Hakim, and keep the team together longer.

One thing I can say for sure, is the Chiefs would have never been able to put together that offensive juggernaut in the early 2000's, because they wouldnt have ended up with Vermeil, Al Saunders, or Green.

I think Kurt Warner would have caught on in another city.

I don't think it would have gotten to that point. Trent Green wasn't as smart as Warner, and didn't have the arm to run that offense the way Warner ran it. I'm sure you can make a case for Green's ability to run the offense, but I wasn't impressed with his days in KC either, and no way do we win over 7 games under Trent Green. Kurt Warner would have eventually taken over, or ended out performing him during camp, but not soon enough that we make the run we made. Maybe none of us knew who Warner was, but there's a reason he was on the team, and allowed to take over, instead of signing some veteran FA - While Rams fans were in panic, Dick didn't give it a second thought. Kurt Warner plays like he has nothing to lose, and when he plays that way, not many people are better.

What if Kurt Warner was given the proper time to heal, instead of being shit on for Marc Bulger?

Serves the Rams and their fans right. I'm actually ashamed to be part of that. As far as I'm concerned, St. Louis can rot in hell... and I hope Warner sweeps their sorry asses again in 2009.
