My boys lost a heartbreaker 20-23 in OT to Minnesota... tough loss, definitely headed in the right direction. Fuckin Paulus trying to be the hero with the TD pass... oh well.

Can't remember when the Loud House was actually Loud... was pretty awesome.

It's been a day of bad defensive angles, and bad tackling. Lots of defenders just taking themselves right out of plays making offenses look good.

And what happaned to Virginia Tech? They let this thing got out of there control quickly. Just when it looked like they were about to get back in it, Bama just walked the ball right down the field.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not lol...

My grandmother used to have an old friend she worked with who had seats front row behind the defense on the 35 yard line and she'd give us tickets to at least 3 games each season... man I miss those seats. End zone ain't bad though.

I have no idea how LSU is up 4 at the half, seems like we had 4 good plays all half. We'll need to play much better in the 2nd half for this to end up like I expected.

Dunno how I should feel about Florida only putting up 62 points on a scrub team while Baby Kiffin's lot put up 63.

We'll see whose team is better when both squads actually play BCS-worthy teams.

Im actually going to be working the OSU-U of H game next week and I expect a lot of points to be scored from both sides. Should be a fun game to watch but i hope our D that slowed Georgia wil lslow the Coogs.

Thoughts from LSU's late game vs. UW last night

-Locker is the real deal. Dude can move in the pocket and has a cannon. I really like the look of that UW offense. Lots of speed on the perimeter and Locker gives you a lot to account for on every play.

-Disappointed in the new look John Chavis defense. A few players looked great, especially the LBs, but our DL and secondary continue to let us down. There was no pass rush from the front four all night, and aside from the ever beastly Patrick Peterson our DBs looked terrible. Jae Eugene got burned once in man coverage, and Chris Hawkins is probably still trying to get off that block from the UW receiver down field. The unit looked better in the 2nd half, but we'll need to pick it up considerably if we're gonna get back to championship football.

                        - Without even using our two best offensive players (Scott, LaFell), LSU ran up 24 points of offense, and our young QB had 172 yards and 3 TDs. I'll look at this as a positive since we'll be utilizing our playmakers a bit more as the season progresses. Playcalling for the first half was abysmal, not sure if that's a product of limiting the playbook for a young QB or we just never had a chance to get going since we couldn't get our D off the field.

                        - Terrance Toliver showed why he was a coveted 5* recruit 2 years ago, and will force us to wait a bit on the Rueben Randle show. He established himself as our #2 WR last night. Poor Washington corners got juked out of their shoulder pads on each of his TDs.

                        - Only 1 penalty from LSU is a huge step in the right direction. Aside from an uncharacteristic fumble by C. Scott, we played mistake free football. I can't remember a game with fewer penalties for us.

                        - 3rd downs are killing us. Chavis has to stop rushing 4 and dropping into a deep zone on these 3rd and longs. When we got aggressive and pressed and blitzed we made more things happen. If our front four is gonna continue to not get to the QB we'll have to bring more pressure off the edge.

How did you think Jefferson looked Nahste?

I was impressed with him outside of the RZ where he was a bit slow to make a decision once or twice .

But overall he looked very promising imo . Was my first time watching him so I'm wondering what a fan of them thinks about him

He looked great to me. His ability to run was already a known commodity, but what I was happy with his how much bigger he looks. He needs to chill on trying to run LBs over but he looks a lot stronger and tougher out there than the skinny freshman we threw to the wolves last season.

Hard to tell how he'll do passing the ball with a full playbook, it was clear we watered things down a bit in that game. He made some nice throws after a poor start, and really only made one bad pass (a dropped interception by them).

But 3 TDs, no turnovers and a win is all I can ask for.

Anyone looking for an offensive coordinator? Comes right out of Blacksburg (or Blacksville as Lee Corso likes to say), Virginia.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity! He has coached one of the most consistent offenses in America for the past four years, with his team almost always finishing around 100th in the nation in total offense!

Really though, fuck Bryan Stinespring. Virginia Tech will never be considered an elite team with him at the reigns of the offense. If Beamer ever wants to fill that empty glass case labeled "National Championship," he's going to have to completely restructure the offensive coaching staff after this season.

Tyrod Taylor hasn't progressed at all since his freshman season. Actually, I think he may have actually regressed. Taylor had more poise as a freshman against FSU in 07 than he had last night. It doesn't help him, though, that he has a terrible OC calling the shots and a QB coach who wants to transform him into a pocket passer. It's sad really.

How, after two full years in the system, he continually over or underthrows the deep ball amazes me. Tyrod had so much potential but unfortunately I think poor coaching has stunted his development.

One shining beacon of hope last night was Ryan Williams. Other than the muffed punt, he was everything I hoped he would be going into the game. The 32 yard touchdown run brought back visions of Vick when he laid out to get the ball past the pylon. Amazing stuff. Dyrell Roberts was also very impressive.

Really all V tech had to do was dial up some screens or some blue madden play routes when Bama was bringing the heat in the 4th qtr, just keep it simple. Instead Taylor had nothing to work with.
