I can't wait for LT to be back in top form this year to shut these idiot journalists up.

Throw them the ball and it's a different story though.

Another thing we have to remember is that AP doesn't play 3rd downs (usually). Think of how many more yards he could get if he did.
Catching the ball is an important attribute for a Halfback believe it or not.

        The position is Half back.
Theres a shitload more to being a "runningback" i.e FB/HB/TB then just running.
You must be watching the CFL or rugby.
Best reason to have a license.

The position is about blocking , running , receving all in one . Another big factor of being a RUNNINGBACK is not fumbling .

Hell if Runningback is all about running and nothing else then why do the Colts refuse to sign or draft Runningbacks who can't pass protect? Obviously because they have a HOF qb to protect but it just shows that there is way more to the position then just running . I would take a good runner who can catch and block over a better runner who can't block or catch (not saying AP is either) but he does need to work on both

Btw It's called Halfback if I am not mistaken

Agreed. I say the same thing when people talk about Mike Vick. People forget that the position is called: QUARTERback, which means QUARTERING.

To be fair, LT has ventured into underrated-land with his 1100 yard (3.8 avg) and 10 TD season.

I wouldn't write him off, yet...he is going to be 30 this season and that "fall off age" is right around the corner, but we aren't talking about any ole RB here, Tomlinson can still produce.

This year will be big for him. He was at his best when he had someone (Turner, Chatman) to give him a rest...now that Sproles has emerged, I think we go back to seeing 1300+ yard Tomlinson.

I thought the story was all about LT saying he is the best because he was a threat everywhere on the field. He can run the distance, juke, stiff arm, throw a good block, catch passes, be a 3rd down back. OTOH, AP isn't such a comlpete HB even though he's a hell of a ball carrier.

                    LOL @ Quartering

This is as big an example of a reporter making up a story as I've ever seen. Someone asks an active HOF caliber RB who's the best RB in the league & he says himself. Whoop-dee-fucking-do!
