and when games are tight or Eagles are behind, he will get less time / plays.

he is still one lucky dude
Number 1 - He will never be Sorgi . Coming from a colts fan Sorgi is the worst qb you can ever hope to see (26th best backup actually ) . He isin't even our number 2 anymore since we drafted Painter . He is basicly there because him and Peyton are good freinds and he demands little in salary (also knows the playbook quite well to teach younger guys)

Number 2- This "fad offense" has been used before . It's not like they cooked it up over night . Even when Vick isin't making plays the defense will have to watch him thus helping other players get open

The Eagles have stated that they want him for goaline and short yardage plays (the thing they struggled with most last year) . That's hardly keeping him out of pressure situations now is it? goaline and short yardage?
How he gets along with McNabb is another story

things that dominate in college , dont dominate in the pro's.

No, the wildcat will be short lived like the run and shoot. its just something to mess with but can not be a major part of an offense. its too easy to defend in the pro's in the long run. believe me, this year, teams will blitz the heck out of it. its basically a run play.

its not just me, this is the view of almost the entire NFL. its a fad , nothing more.

If you blitz the heck out of Vick or Pat White they'll make you look silly.

Seriously, Week 6 would have been fine but Goodell's only doing this to appease the Player's Union and to sell more tickets.
You're right, Goodell should certainly never try to appease the player's union. It's not as if they get him paid or something. :cpuslap:

It wasn't just your imagination. The Chiefs and Patriots really did run the spread last year. The Dolphins had a ten-game turnaround by adding, what?, three or four plays out of the Single-Wing.

And what constitues dominate? Everyone running the same thing? Monotony's boring, dude.

What's wrong with innovation? Why are you and so many NFL coaches afraid of it? Everything you see in today's NFL - the 4-3, the 3-4, the 46, the I-Form, the Ace, Shotgun - all had to be created and innovated.

If I'm a professional athlete, being a backup isn't my idea of a dream job.

for what? one play ? 7 yards if your lucky? thats all the wild cat is worth. puting Vick in short situations means thats all they think he can handle. They also dont plan to be in too many short situations. Vick is number 3 on the depth chart. Just a back up lucky that the league has a new wrinkle for a while.

Pat White has proven nothing yet. I do hope he does well. he seems to be a respectfull guy. Even though I grew to hate West Virginia ,thanks to EA NCAA haha. He needs to make it as true QB because he will get killed at his size if he tries to run too much.

the wild cat for the Dolphins was nothing more than a quick fix to hide weaknesses in their running game. It obviously was no help in the playoffs for them.
