Props to Boise State for not making this an all out brawl.

For the punch he probably deserves about a 2 game suspension, but the fact that he acted like a lunatic who attempted to enter the stands he probably deserves about a 5 game to half season suspension. It appears he has a history of disciplinary problems as it relates to anger management problems, so at the minimum I wouldn't let him back on the field until he goes through some sessions with some counselors. However, I do not believe his actions were worth taking an entire year of his eligibility. He's young and stupid....he'll learn from this.Comment

It will probably end up being a mix of the twoComment

Ok Blount went crazy, that was inexecusable behavior, no need for all that.
But now on the flip side, I wonder if coach Peterson does anything to Hout if he was in fact taunting Blount.
It looks like Blount is starting to walk away, with Peterson standing right next to Hout when Tout taps him on the shoulder and then says something to Blount, and which Peterson immediately is trying to say something to Hout like what are you doing, then gets sucker punched.
Then after another camera panned away to Blount going bonkers, the other camera showed Peterson chewing out Hout.
No execuses for Blount, that is unexecusable behavior.
But I'm just curious as to what Hout said and if he was in fact displaying bad sportsmanship taunting after the game. Peterson's reaction right when he says something and after, looks like he was in fact taunting him perhaps.
Just really curious as to what went down.Comment

Oh wait, Boise State was the team who didn't do the typical and retaliate. No props for Oregon.
Verbal taunting happens all the time. A sucker-punch in the face in return, then having a meltdown because you had a shitty game? Not the best reaction.Last edited by Youk; 09-04-2009, 09:17 AM.Comment

They were trying to diffuse the situation. You see any other Oregon players going bonkers???? Nope,,,just one.
Both teams did a good job not letting things escalate. Not just Boise like the above poster posted, both teams did a good job of not letting things escalate.Comment
