Thoughts:
* Defense played great,...when it blitzed. They were at the best in the third quarter when they were sending heavy blitzes. The prevent crap they played on the final drive led to the bungles only score.
* Alphonso Smith was a great pick. He was the only rookie who made an impact today. Moreno obviously isn't 100% and I don't know if Ayers even played. Smith made some great tackles, that forced the bungles to punt.
* The offense has a long way to go. They never got into any rhythm today, and they made a lot of stupid mistakes. We would have easily won the game, but Hamilton had a few penalties late in the fourth, and then Orton took a sack to move us out of field goal range. At least Orton didn't make any boneheaded throws.
* The defense did a lot better then I thought they would, although they did get lucky a few times in the first half. They might struggle against better teams if they keep going with four man rushes and soft zones.
* The special teams are terrible, at least Prater was 2/2 on field goals.
