The call on Thomas wasn't terrible, the whistle blows then Thomas body slams Edwards for no reason. The Pats defense in generally was making a lot of dumb plays (hi Merriweather!), maybe they should start playing more disciplined.

You can be tackled ... you just can't slam down the qb 15seconds after the play is ruled dead

I am literally "Lol'ing" if Pats fans are trying to say the Thomas one didn't deserve a flag or wasn't at least "questionable" . Nothing new , nothing different .... you get flagged for that EVERY TIME especially in the pocket

The penalty they called on Wilfork was garbage, but why should Thomas be allowed to slam a QB after the whistle blows?

The irony of Thomas' roughing the passer penalty is it's basically the leagues response to Albert Haynesworth's body slam of Tom Brady in the preseason. During the preseason I heard a NFLN analyst refer to it as the "Brady rule". That it comes back to bite the Pats in the first game is kind of funny, however, the reaction of Pats fans to this new interpretation of the roughing the passer rule is even funnier.

Especially when you take into account all the times the refs have bailed them out. After the tuck rule Pats fans shouldn't be allowed to complain about referees.
