LOL at MIchigan and Notre Dame fans still thinking this is a big game. Ohio State-USC is the premier match up this weekend, and even that one is overhyped. MIchigan-Notre Dame? Not even close to exciting. I'll watch it, sure, but it's not anywhere close to a big game unless you're a fan of one of the two schools.Comment

I think people have somewhat written off OSU due to their performance against Navy, and to be honest, it's kind of hard to predict how OSU will perform against the Trojans. On one hand, it's clear that OSU opted to look past Navy and prepare for USC. At the same time though, OSU's offense didn't seem to be that impressive from what I saw in the 4th quarter. The playcalling seemed suspect, and the fact that OSU was unable to impose their will and run out the clock against a physically inferior team when it mattered down the stretch is cause for concern.
I'm hoping it turns out to be a good game though.

Honestly have no idea how the USC/OSU game is going to go.
I like to think that USC will be too much for the Buckeyes but how can I when the Trojans will be starting a true freshman at the Shoe and a defense that lost 8 starters from last year.
Terrell Pryor is the type of QB that gives USC fits. Big, fast, strong, and aware of when to throw and when to run. USC defense needs to play disciplined and keep him in the pocket while getting pressure.
Never underestimate cross-country travel, especially when it comes to college football. It's a long ass trip and it can really take a toll on a team, especially a young team like USC.
USC offense played super conservative against SJSU last week. It's clear that the Trojans can run the ball on San Jose State, unfortunately comparing SJSU and OSU is utterly ridiculous so not much you can take from that. Barkley didn't even complete a pass over 15 years last week, either.
The Trojans will need to open up the offensive playbook this week if they want to beat the Buckeyes because there's no way they rush for 300+ yards on Ohio State.
I'll say USC 28, Ohio State 21.Last edited by Tailback U; 09-09-2009, 10:15 PM.Comment

The matchup between ND/Michigan is usually an indicator of how both teams will perform during the remainder of the season, which is why both fanbases are looking forward to this game. Additionally, if you consider the fact that both teams are looking to turn a corner and the fact that there aren't many marquee matchups this weekend, it's not hard to see why there is more hype surrounding this year's matchup compared to the last couple.
I'll watch it, but that's because I watch all the games. It's just another game this weekend to me. And while I understand what it means to those two fan bases in terms of gauging the progress each has made towards regaining respect, I'd appreciate it if we didn't all pretend this was the game of the week and start threads on it 5 days prior. Even in a relatively down weekend, this game doesn't exactly have anybody looking forward to it other than fans of the two schools.
Hyping this as a GAME OF THE WEEK! and devoting practically the whole week 2 Gameday Thread to this game is a bit overkill IMO.
edit- Buck's sig might be the gayest one on VSN. Two faggadocious Wolverines screaming in each other's faces all girly like. Congratulations.Last edited by NAHSTE; 09-10-2009, 12:16 AM.Comment

I'm a diehard Notre Dame fan. But I am not a "homer" by any means. Michigan is not Nevada. There is no use even trying to compare the schools. Notre Dame isn't Western Michigan either. Notre Dame's passing game looked good... but it was against Nevada. Rich Rod looks to have finally found a QB and that is what is required for his specific type of offense. I am looking forward to the game. But not because
(A) winner has a shot at the NC (nether do) or
(B) its the best matchup of the week (nope: USC @ theOSU)
I will watch because I am a fan, plain and simple.

Those two players play for the team with the highest winning percentage in college football history and for a team with 11 national championships.. Don't hate cus LSU only won twice.Last edited by gaysex4lif; 09-10-2009, 01:34 PM.Comment

Michigan vs. Notre Dame
Two games that fans who've probably never even been on either campus are anticipating. I hope Michigan loses cause if the Irish do manage to win the unnecessary media hype is gonna be intolerable.
GT Clemson tonight will be fun to watch though.Comment
