They need to have established rock acts opening these things. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to look at Fergie in skin tight clothes jumping around but NFL opening night isn't the right place for the Peas. I'm thinking somebody like AC/DC, Aerosmith or Metallica.

Like one of you said, the NFL/NBC needs to pay one of these established stars & you also have to be realistic. They would never do metal or any of these great Indie bands. I know the Black Eyed Peas are signed to Jimmy Iovine's record label Interscope which is owned by Universal who owns NBC, so they probably demanded those 'tards to play.

I'd love to see Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones etc open up a season though, but these sort of high caliber acts are usually reserved for the Super Bowl.

Agreed. I remember the halftime performance of the 2000 Raiders-Ravens playoff game was Run DMC. That was the only thing comparable to this POS.
