there is a difference between being dirty/cheap and being aggressive.

tripping = dirty

after the whistle = dirty

helmet to helmet hits = not dirty.

hines ward is not a dirty player, he is just aggressive and physical. he is a football player.

adrian wilson is not a dirty football player. he is a BAMF. he plays football like it was meant to be played. i believe he leads the league in unnecessary roughness penalties over the last 3 years but anyone who has ever played football at a high level wants to be him or have him on their team rather than face him. he strikes fear into the hearts of men. that is football.

Very very few guys are actually dirty ((romanowski ,haynseworth ,erik williams )) and those guys at some point or another intentionally tried to hurt someone outside the confines of a play.
