Why do you spend so much time explaining things that are common knowledge?

It's week three, and this is an NFL message board. Most people know Falcons signed Peterson, Singletary is the 49ers coach, etc. etc.

You spend a lot of time explaining things that are common knowledge instead of going over the reasoning behind your predictions. It's like you don't know your audience. When you started explaining how the Falcons drafted Matt Ryan last season I stopped reading.

i just give backround on the team, this isnt the only place this is posted or read. pointing out what the falcons did last year to get better helps to make a back story for how they are or will do this week. I try to write the previews in a way that they can stand on their own and be read by some one who isn't a fan of that team. Sadly when most people read an acrtle like this they only focus on their team so I get people like you asking me why i mentioned Peterson and ryan. I mentioned the signing of peterson to help explain why and how the defense was getting better isntead of just syaing 'the falcons are working to improve their defense.' I try to focus onthe story line if the game, and matty ice being a 2nd year qb going up against brady is a story.

yes i can, and I did. the oakland/denver game is not a big story and it is not a bigger game nationally than the steelers/bungles game. if i was a huge hypocrite i would have left out the dallas/carolina game. that game isnt for a division lead now is it?

My point is that you put in a lot of information that everyone already knows, and it just makes for a really long article that ends up being a chore to read. Like you said these things are around 8 pages long in MS Word.

using back story and player stats makes for a more interesting read, and i dont mind it being 8 pages in MS word, in factthe GBU is rootinely 10-12 pages.
