The UGA fans really don't want to man up for THEIR teams mistakes. The call was called on Green but they HAD to put a number on it. Its kinda like when the UGA sideline cleared and celebrated the TD versus the gaytors. The team basically holding up for about 30 seconds in the endzone IS excessive. Charles Scott throwing up ones at the crowd is pretty much taunting which is also a personal foul. If UGA was able to tackle when it counted then big Chuck the Truck would not have gone 40 yards for a TD. If UGA was able to contain on special teams then Trindon would not be able to cut cross field and make it to the 50. It's hard to accept a tough loss, but this win is completely legit for the Tigers. I will say AJ Green is the truth. Peterson also showed that he can hang with him. Got literally burned once at the beginning of the game but Cox couldn't hit him. The play in the endzone where Green boxed out Peterson and Peterson still made the play speaks volumes about his ability and he still has 1 or 2 years left with the Tigers. Dude may be the best corner in the nation.

Atleast you somewhat accept that the penalty helped your team, I mean good god people just act like the penalty was nothing. Don't forget the 25+ yard catch Green had on him in the first half. The guy didn't impress me. Dawgs didn't play all 4 quarters, and when you combine that with the call we lost the game hands down.

Aight, here's my attempt to bring some sense to this thread...
For one, Georgia lost that game in the first half. We were lucky not to be down more - but Cox has gotta hit a wide-open Green, Walsh needs to make that easy FG, etc. But people, people, PEOPLE...we had ONE FUCKING FIRST DOWN IN THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF. If that doesn't make you sick, I don't know what does.
We played damn well in the 2nd half to stay in the game and be in it until the end.
Now, for this controversial call. For one, and I'm not quite sure how to explain this...but I think kicking off from your own 15 may change coverage a bit. You're pinned back in your own end, so to speak. In reality, Holliday's return was, what, 30-35 yards? If we get to kick off normally and he catches it around his own goalline, LSU is on their own 35-40 instead of our 38. Playcalling, thus, changes, and they probably don't break that big one. We got a great pass rush so it wasn't guaranteed that Jefferson would have time to throw.
It didn't lose us the game, but momentum-wise and strategy-wise, it was a HUGE shift.
That is all. CMR has gotta get this ship righted quickly...not a fan of the direction this program seems to be headed in. 1 for our last 9 at home against AP Top 5 teams?Comment

Alright so here it is... the rest of the way.
We need to, and I think we will, take care of business vs... Tennessee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tenn. Tech.
That would put us at 7-2 with games vs Fla, Aub, GT. I'd like to see a 2 of 3 split there, but I think 1 of 3 might be the best we get (just being realistic).
So I see us with a 9-3 or 8-4 record going into the bowls.Last edited by Sharkweather; 10-04-2009, 03:12 PM.Comment

For this season, I think that's pretty reasonable. Tennessee will be tough but I don't see any reason why we can't beat the other three. Auburn and GT are winnable games but I think Florida is a loss.
Excited about the future, though, but we've GOT to start coaching these boys up. With AM, Ealey, Wooten, Marlon Brown, Orson, Branden, Boykin, and then guys like Da'Rick and Stripling in the fold, there's no reason why we shouldn't be near the top of the SEC within the next two years.Comment

As for this comment about Peterson:

Peterson definitely has to be up there with the best corners in the SEC. Great size, long arms, and pretty good speed, and basically the only guy in the conference that can legitimately match up with AJ Green.
Sure, AJ won a couple battles, but so did PP. Very impressed.Comment
