    Are you fucking serious?

n/m, I was thinking of every other DL that was selected by the Cardinals. Forgot Swann actually did something.

Against Denver he tried to hit a WR on the sideline and the ball just sailed into the stands.

Bad player, terrible attitude, and being on the raiders isn't gonna help.

Russell is the worst QB i have ever seen.

i don't remember watching Ryan Leaf play but he couldn't have possibly been worse than Russell.

Russell is the most inaccurate qb in the history of football. he had louis murphy open down the sideline last week and he literally threw it out of bounds - like outside the sideline.

Russell has to eb the worst because of his contract. By having that much money committted in a player and have him suck setes the franchise back 10 years, and the only reason Alex Smith isnt starting and Russell is is because the 49ers are good enough to be in the playoffs with a decent QB so Smith cant play where the Raiders can still experiment with Russell cause there not going anywhere.

THANK GOD RAIDERS TOOK RUSSELL, cause the Lions wouldnt have gotten Calvin and took Russell.

Speaking of bad #1 overall picks, does anyone remember two years ago when people wanted Brian Brohm of Louisville to enter the draft and thought he'd be the #1 overall pick? The Packers cut him in preseason this year. What a disaster that would have been.
Russell actually left after his junior year... might've been a redshirt year but he still left early.

And with Brohm, I will say one thing... Louisville has one of the worst track records imaginable with producing QBs... Dave Ragone, who some thought was one of the worst QBs to step on an NFL field not too long ago, Stefan LeFors, who was drafted by Carolina, didn't last any amount of time and spent this season in the CFL looking utterly hopeless (if you didn't see it... it was an absolute trainwreck), and then Brohm who was a 2nd round pick last year and couldn't even beat out the aforementioned Matt Flynn.

As for the topic... I think Russell is, at this point, the worst #1 pick I've seen.
Finally back after a 3 year hiatus!

Russell is pretty bad...but he also isn't in a position to succeed either. That typically spells doom for any young QB, though.

I'd throw out Tom Cousineau, Audrey Bruce, Kenneth Sims, Walter Patulski, or some other old school guys, but they found themselves to at least be serviceable NFL players.

I'd say guys like Alex Smith and JaMarcus Russell are bigger busts because those guys simply, clearly couldn't hack it in the pro game. I tend to give guys who suffered injuries a pass in discussions like this...guys like Courtney Brown, Steve Emtman, and Ki-Jana Carter and others can take a seat for this discussion, IMO.

However, Russell is still young. It doesn't mean he is absolved, but he can still redeem himself with time and better play. We'll see.

Haven't heard that name in a LONG time.

The Bills traded OJ Simpson to the 49ers, then used the 1st round pick from the Niners on Cousineau. But they couldn't agree on a contract, so Cousineau spent his first couple years in the CFL. The Bills then traded Cousineau's draft rights to the Browns for a 1st round pick. The Bills used THAT pick on Jim Kelly, so, essentially, the Bills traded OJ Simpson for Jim Kelly (and a few other players).

I think Cousineau played a few years with the Browns, then contracted AIDS or something weird like that. I could be wrong.

Omg Stefan LeFor is the worst qb I've ever seen kid has no arm and no accuracy. I cannot believe the bomber traded for him to be their starting qb

WFAN's Carl Banks lit into Russell this morning...."a disgrace", "there are high-school QBs with better mechanics", "fundamentally inept as you can get", "this situation is an indictment on Hackett and the player himself". Damn.

well I won't say the worst, but I am hard pressed to find someone worse, I haven't seen a lot of him, mostly because they don't get in the redzone to be on the redzone channel, but i did watch the KC game, and he was godawfull until the last drive when he was just not as bad, but his numbers in that game were off the charts bad. He throws a pretty deep ball, but not any more accurate than most guys, his accuracy on even short passes is worse than many guys I have seen in college who never even play a game in the NFL, Hell I have seen High School QB's from small schools who never play above Division III college ball with better accuracy.

if he was on any other team he would still be holding a clipboard.

At least Alex Smith looked like he was going to turn into a solid NFL starter when he had Norval as his OC, and that was in his second year.

If I had to pick one off the top of my head, I'd say TIm Couch... was hyped to be their franchise QB who would turn them around... meh
