Mr. Clayton,
When you signed a 5-year $26 million dollar contract ($10.5 million guaranteed) with the Bucs in the off-season, many scoffed at new GM Mark Dominik's commitment to a player who has produced so little since his rookie season of 2004.
Since 2004 you have struggled mightily with holding onto the ball. In fact, you had an apologist in the broadcast media * cough* Duemig *cough*, who claimed that your "confidence" was broken by Jon Gruden and you weren't getting any chances. Yet, I have never seen someone who had their "confidence" broken get so many chances to catch a ball. Gruden gave you four years to get back on track and all you did was continue to drop passes and make mistakes. All of this after you said you NEEDED more chances to make plays in the passing game and you had FOUR drops.
After the game you were asked about your performance since signing the deal and your critics. You said the following:
WOW...Michael, when Gruden was fired, you went on a rant to the Tampa Tribune about how the guy was "too hard on you," "got into your head," and was the reason for your poor play. NOW, you apparently don't let criticism get to you and you never have!?!?! HUH???
Your comments about the "check is in the bank" shows exactly your commitment to your craft and the organization. Guess what motherfucker...it's about to get a lot worse for you in the local media and from the local fan-base. Your ass just lost anyone that supported you...and for the record...I wasn't one of them. Not only is this area one of the worst in the state for unemployment, but, you weren't popular to begin with and you don't have the talent to be such an asshole to point out how you were lucky enough to have a half-retarded person running the show in the front office. Quite frankly, the only people who supported you were Duemig, Morris and Dominik and 2 of the 3 are on their way out. Don't be shocked if your released before the end of the season.
Do everyone a favor and break your fucking leg asshole.
All the worst,
Buccaneer fans
