Look around the league, and you see a guy like Steven Jackson, killing himself and busting his ass playing for a team that has 5 wins in 3 seasons. Jake Delhomme, Calvin Johnson, so many others, you see these guys playing hard in losing situations, and you see the pain in their faces when they lose.

Then you see guys like Moss when he was in Oakland, and he clearly didnt care. Same with Edwards.

These post pretty much sum up my feelings on this matter.

However, Kuzzy the issue with this is that even though Edwards (like Moss) was dogging it he eventually got rewarded by being traded to NY. I think the system breeds this sort of behavior though, because we see it all of the time.

lol....he is a joke. He is ok as long as his team is playing well.
edwards will give yets fans some great things to watch, but he will also provide some serious WTF moments.

by change of scenery do you mean have a pro bowl 2007 season only to turn into a lazy no catch mfer in 2008. Keep in mind his woes began right from the jump in 2008 after a pro bowl 10 win season

WRs more than anyone completely rely on someone else in order to be productive. I cannot fault a guy who starts to push himself less rather than risk injury and his career because he knows (as do we all) that he won't be able to get the ball from his unproductive QB.

LOL....so Braylon Edwards avoided injury by dropping about 26 passes last year?

I think its a much different situation than the guy at the factory or the guy in the cube...in football, you are much more dependent on your co-workers than in the working world. If Dave incorrectly enters the agate type in his newspaper, no one cares. If an offensive lineman misses his block, the QB gets killed.

Should have traded him in the off-season when he requested it.

When you are miserable in a city and you are losing, for these athletes, its the same as Joe Blow working at the dead end job. For you and I, it doesn't look the same, and in reality, it isn't...but for them, the athletes, it is.

It doesn't excuse Edwards' behavior, not at all...but that is the situation at hand.

The change of scenery seems to be good for Braylon. We'll see. He is on a team that is winning...he is in the spot light of NYC...he has close friends on the Jets team (Kerry Rhodes)...so, we'll see how it works out for him.

Typically "diva" wide receivers keep their mouth shut and play and work hard when their team is winning and they get footballs thrown their way.

It's my understanding that the Jets offered them the best deal out of everyone, so holding on to edwards seems to have payed off.

Im pretty shocked so many people are making excuses for Braylon or dont really seem to think this guy is a douche for fucking the Cleveland Browns the way he did. Again.. im all for believing that some people need a change of scenery, but to not believe this guy was flat out dogging it in Cleveland is pretty dumb and if you were a Browns fan im sure it would bother you much more. Unfortunately everyone thinks the Browns are a joke so Braylon is getting some passes, hahah. I wont argue that the Browns are a joke, but I still dont think it gave Braylon the right to not even try.. it was painfully obvious to me that this was the case after watching how much effort he was putting forth last night. Dude had a spark again.. I just dont see how its fair to do the Cleveland Browns franchise dirty by not even trying. You get paid 10's of millions and you cant even try? Thief status people..

Who cares if he was dogging it in Cleveland? He didn't want ot be there and told people he didn't want to be there. Just ask the raiders who played hard the 1st 2 games, but when it was apparent that All the teams effort wass just going to wasted as JR sucks they have given up..

I have no problem not giving a 100% when you know that it wouldn't make a difference anyway. Lets not forget DA completed 2 passes playing the whole game last week.

Oh and the Dolphins offered Ronnie Brown before the draft which whould be better than what they got from the Jets...

Good to see people think its ok not to try when you're getting paid 5.5 million dollars a season.

lol @ the excuses being made for someone dogging it.

Edwards needs to grow up. When your one of the stars/faces of the team you need to accept the responsibility that you are being looked upon to be a leader, not to dog things when you aren't winning. The only way you create a winning atmosphere and improve as a team is if you go balls to the wall, not wait to be traded and flop on the franchise.

Edwards does not control whether or not he goes 100%, it's his job to play as hard as possible because he is being paid to do that.

Braylon had a game this season where he had more personal fouls than catches. plus he was dropping balls and running around Cleveland acting like a jackass (started coming to light with the whole LeBron incident). He was obviously not going 100% in Cleveland and Jets fans better hope Ryan can keep himin line.

It's quite simple here I don't care if your making 10 million a yr or 20k. If you don't like what your doing your not going to be a great employ, because you really don't give a shit. your going to do enough not to get fired and hopefully find something better.

People want to come in and say that it's different, but it's not. The employer that pays you 10/hr is still expecting you to give a 100%. Is it ok for someone else to screw an employer out of money, because he is making less? NO.

                              Get over it...

So basically you're a piece of shit just like Braylon Edwards?

                                Cool bro.

Thing is with the bold is hes STILL doing the same occupation. Theres not much you got going for you in this argument except that you think its ok not to put forth effort at your job.
