The problem is you need a seperate scheme designed to stop it.. chances are you can't play your shell Cover 1 defense and be effective, you need to make sure your safeties are rotating properly with the motion, everyone knows their role in protecting their gap, and the pass is adequately covered. And teams only have a week to prepare for it, which makes it even more effective.
Even with all of this, though, you still need your players to perform on the field. Miami's offensive line has been nothing short of dominant this season, and they're leading the league in rushing with or without the Wildcat as far as I'm concerned. When your offensive line is pushing people back, AND you have an extra blocker, that's when you can get 6-10 yards per carry by running one formation.
