Are people expected to watch some of these games?

I mean really? This has to be the worst year ever for overall standart . Apart from fans of the teams who would possibly want to watch KC - Was ? TB - CAR? GB - DET? JAX - STL?

What happened to the salary cap providing a closer league where anybody can beat anyone?

That is why those games aren't on national tv.

I think this is the salary cap working at its finest.

I'm watching Drew Stanton and Daunte Culpepper have a competition to see whose third string next week.

Wasn't the cap supposed to keep teams close? The difference between the top and bad teams is bigger than ever

Cap doesn't solve everything. Lot of other factors come into play.

bad management causes good teams to be good and bad teams to be terrible.

                        I agree

But would you say it's fair to say that nearly half of the league is horrible right now

                        Becuase that's what I'm seeing

Sorry for the rant :D ... guess having a bye week does this to me

Yeah, cap salaries mean nothing when u got bust like Jamarcus Russell or draft steals like...........um whoever's a young draft steal out their now making a difference for the team.

Half the league is usually horrible. There are 6 teams from each conference that makes the playoffs (12 teams) and then maybe 4 that can challenge for one of the wildcard spots.

Last season you had 11 teams that were under .500 and 5 teams that were exactly .500. That is 15 teams.

I would say last year there were only really 10 "good" teams.

It was supposed too, but mismanagement is popular. Especially with teams who are around .500 but have a team better than that, but they can't progress because everyone around them is just as good. Then after a few years od mediocrity the team gets blown up and they start rebuilding. (Jags, Bucs, Panthers, Redskins, Seahawks, and Houston and San Diego to some extent).
