By all accounts, the right knee injury suffered by Texans TE Owen Daniels appears to be of the serious variety.
Daniels left during the first quarter of Sunday’s 31-10 win over the Bills and did not return with what was announed as a sprained knee. When asked about the injury during his postgame news conference, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said “it does not look good right now.â€
The Houston Chronicle is reporting Daniels will have an MRI exam on the injured knee Monday but is likely done for the season with a torn ligament.
Daniels was injured on Houston’s second possession of the game and didn’t return, finishing with one reception for 22 yards.
This would be a big loss for Houston’s No. 3 passing offense. Going into Week 8, Owens led all NFL tight ends in receiving yards and was second in touchdowns and receptions.
