I never actually realized Thmopsons 1st big thing he did was draft Aaron Rodgers, yet here is Favre 4 years later still playing at a high level. Then I completely forogt about the Randy moss situation.
The Packers don't miss Favre, Rodgers is piling up insane stats. Who cares about winning a few games...lol -
It gets so irritating having people rag on AR when he's having his second very good year. There are so many legitimate things to rag on with the team in GB and you pick Rodgers?Comment

I didn't realize Brett could play QB, RT, LT, HB all at the same time. He is good. And isn't GB 4-3 right now? With that guy that just racks up stats while running for his life?

The Packers were just a couple of players away from strong Superbowl contention. There was no need to bust up the team just to rebuild with only guys that Thompson drafted.Last edited by MrBill; 11-05-2009, 06:30 PM.Comment

I can't even believe I'm saying this - But I've been rooting for Minnesota every week.
And it's because of........ Brett Favre.Comment

GB got a QB that looks like he could be something special and have him for the next decade. People would have been ragging on GB management for not drafting Rodgers. It was a no-brainer pick.
Complain about something legit. There's plenty to pick from.Comment

AND......What are you going to do if Drew Brees keeps up his play? You gonna root for NO Saints because of Brees?
Come on, I wanna hear you say it....Brees for MVP!!!!!Last edited by bucky; 11-05-2009, 06:38 PM.Comment

I've been rooting against Minny, just because it's Minny. Brett has nothing to do with me wanting Minny to lose.

I stopped reading when I got to this spot in the article.
That's right. Halfway through the season Favre is the clear-cut MVP. It ain't even close. Right now Favre is sportsman of the year. That's not hyperbole.
Not even close? Guess this guy isn't aware of a QB in New Orleans tearing shit up right now.Comment

Its easy to look like a genius when you have hindsight. Where was all this talk when Favre played poorly to end last year. Its easy to speak up when things support your argument.
I don't understand why some people can not accept that both sides were at fault. Both sides handled it poorly. Favre is playing very well now but I really really doubt the Packers are any better this year or last with Favre at the helm. The one thing I think he does that would help this team is getting rid of the ball quickly. Rodgers has taken a number of sacks holding the ball to long. But at the same time Favre couldn't in a million years create plays with his feet like Rodgers does. Favre would be a cripple behind this line. He'd also be under duress constantly and likely lofting up horrid passes and numerous INTs.
As Bucky said, if you want to get on Thompson's case, there are numerous other things to do so for. Like completely ignoring the OLine.
Favre is a great QB and playing at an extremely high level right now. He deserves all the credit in the world for that. But lets not ignore who he is surrounded by and pretend he would be this good in any other situation. How you can sit there and admit that Rodgers is having a great year and then say if Favre were in there it would result in wins is ridiculous logic. Isn't the fact that Rodgers is having such a great year and the Packers are still struggling pretty telling that this team has numerous other issues. Seriously think about that logic. Its absurd. The same can be said for last year. I hate to break it to some of you but Favre only plays one position. Its an important one but its not the only one. Good QB does not automatically = win.Last edited by Spidey; 11-05-2009, 09:03 PM.Comment
