The NFL isn't stupid. When it loses Carson Palmer and Tom Brady to a season thanks to stars like Bernard Pollard and Kimo von Oelhoffen, you know who you need to protect.

What's funny is every fan here would be pro-their QB in this situation if their star QB went out for the year the way Brady or Palmer did. But since it hasn't happened to their team no one cares.
    Exactly.

    Fuck the Patriots.

Rod Woodson said it perfectly after this interview. Every offensive player in the league asks for a penalty when the play goes wrong. When a WR drops a pass he instantly looks behind him for the ref and throws a fake flag to try and draw a pass interference call and every QB will complain when they get hit late, and a lot will get the calls.

Offensive players are soft, defensive players are not.
This. All players try to get a call after a bad play, and I'm fine with that....

          BUT!

They dont whine about it after the game like Brady (quote in my sig)

I mean c'mon really? Trying to get a flag is one thing. But when you expect it and whine about is another...

            Palmer's injury - January 8, 2006.

During the off-season, the league's rules committee modified the rule regarding low hits on quarterbacks. The new rule prohibited defenders from hitting a passer at or below the knee unless they are blocked into him.

            Brady's injury - September 7, 2008.

The NFL rules committee makes a clarification to the "Palmer rule". The clarification specifically prohibits a defender on the ground who hasn't been blocked or fouled directly into the quarterback from lunging or diving at the quarterback's lower legs.

Len is right, the only reason it's called "The Brady Rule" is due to the clarification added to the "Palmer rule". A lot of the negativity towards the rule is because of Brady's profile. He's a pretty boy with rings, literally could be the face of the league.

However, where Len is wrong. I would love it if some defenses would take Derek Anderson AND Brady Quinn OUT. Just to end my suffering.

              Nope.

When Aikman got Kod and had his career jeapordized I hated that it resulted in helmet to helmet rules.

Bradys a bitch. The only players that complain like Qbs are WRs on an incompletion when theyre lobbying for a flag.
Brady is and acted like a bitch turning to the ref crying about a flag on an shin rub.

I <3 Joey Porter. Few guys have been able to talk shit and back it up over the course of a career like Porter.

shhhhhh Pats fans will tell you about how smart Brady was for lobbying for a call in that situation...even though what he did is essentially flopping which is disgusting in every sport.

You should look into his past games against the Pats where he runs his mouth all week long. Even when Porter says they will throw the kitchen sink at our back-up QB, in which Cassel threw for over 300yds and a few TD's.. It never really works out for him!

I guess you forgot the time when Joey Porter sacked Cassel 4 times in a 38-13 trouncing?

                          OK, once. Great success rate!

Good catch btw, point being is the Dolphins are 1-4 against the Pats since Porters arrival in Miami. With his highly productive day yesterday, I don't see the need for it. Its more of a distraction, and he proved it yesterday, again!
