    Captian Morgan Pose?.....Banned

Just saw this on Yahoo's front page like 30 minutes ago myself. Weird since I actually watched that whole game and I never even saw him do it. I remember him scoring the touchdown and everything, but don't remember the pose. Another reason it's the no fun league.

I can see why they would ban it, but I can also see why people think it's a "no fun league" thing.

        No fun league.

I saw this live....hillarious when I was watchin the game. I got a little weirded out though when Avant was helping him by holding his thigh up.

I'm actually glad they banned the pose since he was generating money directly from it.

The campaign was set to be unveiled next week and was fairly simple: For every time a player was caught on camera striking the “Captain Morgan” during a regular season game, $10,000 would be donated to Gridiron Greats. For each instance in the playoffs, the donation would elevate to $25,000. And for instances in the Super Bowl, the bounty was slated to hit $100,000 per pose.
That's advertising and there's already way to much of it in the NFL.

Ummmmm.......he wasn't getting money for it. the money is for a foundation for retired NFL players, who are broke as shit, and have to pay their medical bills.

Its better than watchin a fuckin Windows 7 and a stupidass chick talking about her Ford Fusion every 5 mins.

Exactly. Frankly, it seems a little iron fisted to me for the NFL to block an athlete from helping out their older destitute colleagues with something that doesn't cost the league a dime. It's not like Goodell is actually going to give the foundation any of the billions generated by the league

He's still generating money and at the end of the day it's still Captain Morgan promoting their product. Captain Morgan should buy ad space to replace those Windows 7 or Ford Fusion commercials. NFL obviously isn't gonna let players advertise products through touchdown celebrations and they shouldn't.

My problem was that you insinuated that "he was raising money" for himself. I know its advertising and I understand they should buy space.

But don't broadcast incorrect facts. Celek didn't make a dime from it, the foundation did.

How is it broadcasting incorrect facts when I quoted the part of the article that describes exactly where the money is going?

No word yet if this will affect Kyle Orton's status as a Jack Daniels spokesman.

In hopes of raising brand awareness, Captain Morgan intended to offer lucrative charity contributions in exchange for each instance a player was caught on camera doing its pose during a game. The contributions were earmarked for the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund – a non-profit which helps retired NFL players with various hardships after leaving the game.

It's no surprise that the NFL would ban anything that helps the retired vets. They've been screwing these guys for years. Hence the creation of the Players Association. And yet, if you read up about it. There are still guys who suffer from playing the game and the NFL just bats an eye at them.

Boo the No Fun League for having these guys fuel their product and make them lucrative amounts of money and get NOTHING in return. Little bit hypocritical if you ask me.
