Colts 11-0 Just Doesn't Feel Right

Gotta agree with Len here...makes me thing of the 2008 Titans. I never thought for a second that they were a 13-3 team, and they proved me right in the playoffs. Just an example, the Colts are one of the top-tier teams right now, but not an 11-0 team in my book.

Indianapolis has won their last five games by an average of just 3.6 points: 18-14 vs. San Francisco, 20-17 vs. Houston, 35-34 vs. New England, 17-15 vs. Baltimore, and 35-27 vs. Houston. Not only that, but every single one of those games was a come-from-behind victory, with the New England win being miraculous. Factor in the early season 14-12 win vs. Jacksonville, and the 27-23 Miami win, and we're looking at a team that could EASILY be 4-7 instead of 11-0.

I think an accurate description of them right now is 8-4 or 9-3. A good team, certainly playoff bound, and one of the top contenders in their conference...but just on the outside of talks about the best teams in the NFL right now.

I can't see Indy finishing undefeated, and I also can't see them going to the Super Bowl. I expect to see an AFC championship loss.

But i dont think its that big of the deal. In my mind the 2007 Pats arent remembered for going undefeated, its that they blew it to the Giants in the only game that matters at the end of the season.

This is where the debate for what defines a "undefeated" team, has a very thin line. In your p.o.v. your saying that the Colts are more or less victims of luck, rather then skill? Because they've come from behind in a majority of their victories, and what you call miraculous, I call exciting.

The Colts were moving the ball very well against that Patriots defense. They were doing so well that Bill Belicheck didn't want to put the game in the defenses hands, hence the 4th and 2 call. Which ever way you view the spot of the ball, and the finish. Don't let that take anything away from this Colts team.

I would much rather have an undefeated team that can win the close games, then an undefeated team that has been beating teams by 10.0 pts or more. It proves that the mentality of a team is tough, and that they're capable of overcoming deficits and miscues to win the game. That to me is more important then destroying opponents every week.

The "only team with that distinction" needs an asterisks by it. They're the only team to go 16-0, yes. Not the only team with an undefeated regular season. And when you fail to win the Super Bowl? It shows how meaningless an undefeated regular season is.

I'm not trying to start a debate here, or steal your thunder. We all know the Patriots franchise is the best of the past decade, and possibly of all time.
