Yeah. I don't understand why Archie Manning's name was even brought up in a Kurt Warner thread.

Archie Manning was a talentless hack, who wasn't good enough to help a below average franchise succeed. Kurt Warner IS talented, and HAS helped TWO of the worst franchises in NFL history succeed.

Looking at Archie's win/loss record, his completion %, and his TDs/INTs, it's no wonder that team wasn't any good.... and it's no wonder why he continues to live through his children.

            They actually have talent.

you mean you really dont have the critical thinking skills to understand the point I so plainly made ? Warner didnt turn the teams he was on into winners. He is a quality QB on teams that made an effort to be good teams on the whole. he didnt carry the Rams or Cards. No QB carries any team.

Archie Manning was just as good as any QB of his day but never was on a team that made an effort to be better. Just looking at his stats tells you nothing. Again, it is / was known league wide that he was considered a damn good QB. To say otherwise means you dont trully know your sports history.
You must be younger than I would think...?

This is a Kurt Warner thread, you fucking moron. If you want a thread where Archie Manning is the main topic, go make one. I'm actually curious how many people will post. And yes, Kurt Warner carried BOTH teams.

this proves you must be young. LOL QBs can not, will not and never have carried teams. it is too intricate a team sport.

I didnt say it was an Archie M thread but you obviously cant grasp the example.

also,Calling me names as a stranger on the internet makes you the fool. Than again, logic and the sports world dont seem to mesh well for you.

That's true in most cases, I agree.

But not in the case of Kurt Warner. He carried both teams.

And in response to your next post - Yes, Kurt Warner carried both teams.

                      : )

dude, there is waaaay too many factors. He isnt even a mobile guy.

Look, i'm a Kurt Warner apologist as much as the next warner fan.
He was made to look just as good thanks to his quality receivers. Without decent receivers he cant carry anybody.

                        It's actually quite simple.

Kurt Warner carried both teams, it's players, and it's coaching staff.

Some guys have it, man, some do not.

Did you see what he did to Minnesota with blurred vision and two bad hips?

Imagine what he'll do when he's healthy again.

I feel bad for the NFC come postseason time.

But thats what I mean by - carry-.

I dont care if you think he got the ball out quick or not. None of it happens if his line is / was trully that inept. His blind side blocker is just as responsible for portions of his success as well as others. Carry is too strong a word

It's all centered around Kurt Warner. The line blocks better, the players play better, the playcalling is better, when Kurt Warner is in. The team, the players, the coaches, all look smarter, and play better, when they have a hall of famer under center. If you asked each and every player on that team, you'd get the same answer - the confidence level of that football team, when Kurt Warner is in, is enough to help beat any team in the NFL.

That ALL changes if Leinart has to come in.

If you're Larry Fitzgerald, Boldin or Breaston, you'd much rather have the perfect pass waiting for you, when Warner is in, than to have to actually do work, when Matt Leinart is in. Kurt Warner is to Arizona, what Peyton Manning is to Indy. It ALL changes, if one of those guys goes down, and no amount of talent around, is going to be good enough to replace that loss.

Maybe ''carry'' is too strong of a word for some of you, but it's not for me.
