If anyone could have seen the Steelers losing 5 in a row, then they should have played the fucking lottery. But not one team blew the Steelers out. So your point is invalid. I said no team was going to whoop their ass, which the scores in losses prove my point you should just shut your mouth.
The Steelers finally showed heart this week. Not in the secondary, but definitely on offense and Ben had some help. We beat a team on a winning streak, got the losing streak off of our back, and now are candidates to make the playoffs. They need the Jags and Broncos to lose next week which is very high possibility. We need to beat the last two teams on our schedule, another very good possibility.
But we'll see...Comment

Hopefully if that happens, Denver will lose out and the Jets and Jags lost games by then, cause if we win out, we got the #6 seed.

a win and the fair weather fan is all about his team again, how shocking. we got lucky today, period. the packers went into a 3 safety prevent on the last drive and the missed fg by them helped us as well. that onsides kick debacle was some madden 10 crap and it should have cost us the game.
if we finish 9-7 we might have a shot, but we have to finish 9-7 first. dont go bringing up the 05-06 run from the 6th seed. we all know that was when you became a fan. bowl cut wearin faggot.
yeah we had to have a miracle to win, but all this team needs to do is win these next two and then troy polamalu is set to comeback @ Miami, which should as we know, help the defensive woes tremendously. sorry for believing in this team, they still have a chance, especially when polamalu comes back @ miami.
hey steeljake, how much does it suck to not even know your team?
sidenote: the tomlin call was great. we either get the onside kick and ice the game, or give the packers a short field to score quick rather then have them drive the field and kick a game-winning field goal with little to no time left. Tomlin doesn't believe in our DEFENSE. our own coach. not surprising, they've sucked all year. yet you always blamed the offense...lmao! dumbass.Last edited by KoRnStARr; 12-21-2009, 11:00 PM.

lol @ calling me a fair-weather fan, i been a steelers fan my whole life, any guys on Madden Mania remember me talking bout the steelers since the kordell stewart days. hell in 2005 i was the only one who believed we could win the superbowl when we were making our run to even make the playoffs after a rough patch in the middle of the season, i know you fucks from the old days remember that.

yes, the team misses troy, but it is not the sole reason for our demise. horrible play calling and a lack of any kind of running game to close games out puts our suspect defense on the field after 3 and outs and int's and even a great d cant handle that.
i am always behind this team, since merril hodge was actually playing if you wanna put dates on it. yes we can win the the two, we could make the playoffs, we could go to the super bowl. but so could the titans, the phins, jags, and about 12 other teams. one win out of 6 games is not enough to start up the cries of being super bowl bound. stop being a homer and get real. also please get a new haircut.

umm, the next two are ravens then dolphins... do you mean that troy will be back if we make the wildcard? i would argue that the loss of arron smith (the same that happened when we lost to the kags two years ago) has caused more issues than troy being out. no pass rush equals exposed secondary (which is overrated even with troy) and lets qb's just sit back and rip us, especially late in games.

Last I heard he's getting an MRI today but is schedule to return for the finale @ Miami.
This is the most dangerous 7-7 team out there, I'm not being a homer when I say that. Our O is very good when Arians isn't a complete and utter moron (give Mendy the rock more), and our D with Troy is a very different D and championship level type of defense.
Home this weekend against Baltimore I feel good about. We took them to OT @ Balt with Dennis Dixon for god sakes. You have to figure Denver will lose to Philly @ Philly this Sunday, and Jax @ NE. We need those two to drop a game in these next two weeks, and this weekend they're primed to do it.
If that happens the Steelers control their own destiny, and as I said, the return of Troy @ Miami will tremendously boost out D and if we make the playoffs with him in the lineup, anythings possible. This team as you know has won as a 6th seed before.Last edited by KoRnStARr; 12-22-2009, 02:32 PM.

LOL! Yeah, you're right -- Polamalu doesn't change anything, or the fact that the Steelers have won 2 SBs this decade, or are defending champions.
They've also beat the Chargers, Vikings, Packers, Broncos, etc.
Love the hate, though.

There's only one issue - they aren't beating Baltimore. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Aaron Smith is very good but he's not the key to our pass rush. He's a great clog and he does HELP the pass-rush because he'll help collapse that pocket, but the key to the rush is Woodley/Harrison. In fact, our pass rush is actually fine because of the blitzes LaBeau dials up as he usually does. What's missing is Troy covering some of the holes in the secondary on these plays and taking away the QB's initial hot-read which is why we're getting gashed in our secondary.

the steelers classicaly play down to their competition. here is a fun fact from this year:
The Steelers are 5-2 against teams that are .500 or better but 2-4 against losing-record teams. (stat from nfl.com)
oh, and the most dangerous 7-7 team is probably the one who has the running back that can gain 200 yards in a game. stop listening to the idiots on espn and form your own opinion for once. the steelers dont control their own destiny. if we end up tied with the ravens they get in, so just beating them and miami wont do it. we need them to lose to oakland in week 17 as well.Last edited by steeljake; 12-22-2009, 07:20 PM.

I actually think that they will. They've been such a strange team this year, winning the games that they aren't supposed to, and losing the ones that they also aren't supposed to.
I'd say, the fact that most people have written them off, they're going to run the table. They're also likely to do this to suck me back in, when I had all but given up on this season and decided that I could enjoy football instead of being stressed out all of the time.Comment
