Did Manning re-open the MVP discussion today?

I still enjoyed it . He lost to a below .500 team (qbs get all the blame remember?) . Favre could just have easily fumbled the next snap, that's how this game works right?Comment

You are just glad that Peterson fumbled that ball because you were sweating balls when Favre hit the 4th and goal TD pass to force OT and was moving the ball at will against the Bears when they abandoned Childress' pussy gameplan and let Favre run the offense.Comment

Man the worst thing about this thread is I've been rooting for the Vikings and Favre all season, plus I hate the Bears. But I ended up rooting for the Bears just because of the nonsense that happened in this thread. Plus I don't even care whether or not Manning wins the MVP.
I said earlier in the year favre was the MVP and he would've won it had his team not collasped + the fight with Childress.
Every year though theres someone who gets on my nerves trying to wrongly pump up their guy for the award. Last year at MM it was one of the Cowboy fans with Ware.Comment

Jay Cutler is at 73.6 for the year and Favre is at 104.3, the sun shines on every dogs ass every now and then so hats off to Jay and he can watch the game tape while the Vikings focus on securing the #2 seed this weekend.Comment

If this scenario happened it'd come down to Brees/Favre/Manning. They aren't gonna give it to a guy like Rivers or Brady who'd have the same numbers (at best) with a worse record. No way Vince Young wins it, CJ would have an outside shot if he broke a record.
I think they'd give the award to Favre media loves sucking him off and they'd give him the MVP.

So if you are a Colts fan first and foremost, quit trying to pretend like you are Mr. Objectivity around here.Comment

When I said Favre was the MVP, it was earlier this year in the chatbox.
And I may be a Colts fan but I realize how the award works. Maybe I'm not entirely objective but I'm also not running around cheerleading for Manning's MVP chances.Last edited by Bear Pand; 12-29-2009, 10:20 PM.Comment

I dont see how you can take it from Manning at this point.
This is simply a poorly disguised Favre love thread. IMO, Favre has pretty much played himself out of any real shot at the MVP over the past month. Not a great month statistically for him and his team is in a downward spiral.
Favre
338/500 (67.6%)
3,886 yards
29 TD
7 INT
7.77 Y/A
259 YPG
104.3 rating
34 sacks
At this point if you are seriously going to consider Favre, you have to consider Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers
329/515 (63.9%)
4,199 yards
29 TD
7 INT
8.15 Y/A
280 YPG
102.4 rating
50 sacks
Almost identical stats with Rodgers having 300 more yards. Packers are peaking at the right time instead of slumping. Rodgers also means more to his team. The Vikings have proven without Favre they are still a playoff team last year. He's got one of the best RBs in the league helping him out. Without Rodgers, the Packers are fucked. Yet Rodgers is never mentioned. Obviously I am biased but I find Rodgers more deserving at this point.
I'd also give it to Rivers over Favre
Rivers
308/471 (65.4%)
4,155 yards
27 TD
9 INT
8.82 Y/A
277 YPG
104.5 rating
25 sacks
Again, very comparable numbers. Rivers is leading the team with the longest winning streak in the NFL at the moment. He's got talent around him but if he went down the Chargers would be screwed. LDT can no longer carry that team.
I don't want to discredit Favre here at all. The guy is amazing and has had a phenomenal year. Crazy how good he still is at his age. Until about a month ago, I thought he was definitely one of the leaders for MVP. But now, IMO, its really hard to even put him in the conversation.
This is all a moot point. Manning has and deserves to have this award locked up. And if he doesn't, the only other realistic candidates are CJ and Brees.Last edited by Spidey; 12-30-2009, 09:00 AM.Comment

Good lord. After now sitting and reading the rest of this thread, Bill you have thoroughly embarrassed yourself. You made your self look absolutely ridiculous in this thread.
Not a strong moment for you buddy.
Oh and for the love of god get off the QB Rating thing. You couldn't pick a more meaningless statistic.Last edited by Spidey; 12-30-2009, 09:05 AM.Comment

LOL that I have ever denied being a Favre fan. I know that you aren't old enough to remember another QB before Manning being in Indianapolis but if he has the sack to play another 7 years, you will probably see him in a uniform other than a Colts uniform because football is a business and the owners won't give a damn about what Manning did for them and there is younger player they want to develop on the cheap. That's something that a young fucktard like you hasn't lived long enough to understand.Comment
