Romo is not currently an elite QB. He is a few years(2-3) of playoff success from getting into that catagory IMO.
Peyton started 0-3 in the playoffs.

    His numbers those games:

    19/42 227yds 0TD 0INT
    17/32 194yds 1TD 0INT
    14/31 137yds 0TD 2INT

    Romo:
    17/29 189yds 1TD 0INT
    18/36 201yds 1TD 1INT

And don't kid yourself, Peyton was called a choker who couldn't win big games dating back to college, LONG before his days of falling to Belichick. Both guys were called losers based on a small sample size of playoff games.

Suddenly a switch is flipped and Peyton is a "elite winner". No, he always was. Not every QB is going to have immediate success in the postseason, and even then, it means little.

    Ask Dan Marino.

I stand by my thoughts on this guy as a QB. There's few I'd take over him right now.

Yeah, where did I say "record"?

      Nice little stat, is all.

If it's just a nice stat, why do we need to care that he will be the first in NFL history to put up those stats?

Trying to grasp at semantics because you didn't actually say "record" doesn't change the fact that 2 weeks from now (not to mention a year from now) no one is going to care about this but you.

Plus this stat/record is mainly just a byproduct of him not having to start until he was 26 years old. And it's not even like dude has played 4 full seasons either.

Congrats Romo you are the first QB to come in at 26 and post four straight 90+ QB rating seasons.

And I don't mind that one bit.

Still waiting for that rebuttal BTW. I know you've been lurking looking for something to pounce on me for.

I don't care what others called him. I never called him that and frankly didn't view Manning as an elite Qb until he started winning in the playoffs.

Losing to the Pats in AFC Championship games =/= to not ever winning one and not making it past the 1st Round.

You're going to bring up Dan Marino? Really? A guy who took his team to the Super Bowl in his 2nd season? Plus he was at no point in his career 0-3 in the playoffs.

Fine. But that doesn't make him elite.

That just means you like him.

You're to be commended for that if it's true because you'd be one of few.

My point being that he had almost immediate success in the postseason followed by subsequent failure. Is he not an elite QB anyway? I'd say he is.

All I did was post a stat. Instead of trying to be funny with the little quips, why don't you offer an actual legit argument as to why this guy isn't an elite QB?
Just for you, since I guess you're desperate for my input:

Read Firsttimer's posts. He has the potential, but he's not there yet. I'm sorry that you have to hear that, I know that it pains you so. He might make it to that level, but right now, he's not there. All you offer is a shit ton of excuses in his favor.

Also, just because "many others" would do it, doesn't make it any less annoying. And the volume of your pro-Tony shit is really only bested by Nuk's Warner shit. It gets old. The fact that you refuse to have a sense of humor about it and always get butt-hurt when someone goofs on you about it is even worse.

By what standard? He went .500 pretty much the rest of his career in the playoffs. Tough for a Romo fan when his guy is 0-3 in the playoffs to call a guy going .500 in the playoffs over the course of a decade and a half a "failure".

If you think I'm butt-hurt, you haven't been paying attention.

Actually, in your case, as you say my schtick has gotten old, so has yours in that you say the same thing every time I make a post in reference to him.

If you consider that "goofing", sorry, but it's hard to tell in type. Internet is great for that.

                        8-10 overall and 6-8 thereafter.

                        But I see your point.

I think I've busted your balls twice about it? I didn't realize that was "schtick", especially in comparison to how much you talk about him. Seriously man, if this isn't the definition of acting butt-hurt, I don't know what is. Also, if you don't take as me busting on you, do you take it as me trying to be mean to you?

Nuk gets hated on all the time and just laughs it off. You get defensive and act like your feelings are hurt.

And to the Marino point: he played in more playoff games in his 2nd season than Romo has yet. He shouldn't even be in the discussion.

Bad choice of words by me.

What Nuk does is schtick. I don't believe in doing that myself. I don't like to "act".

Nuk likes it when people seem to hate on him. I'd prefer logical debate.

FirstTimer had some potshots to take at me, but he actually had arguments to make as well. Nor did he try to make it personal.

Therefore, I didn't have any issues with him.
