Does Someone want to explain Cincinnati at #4

I understand that the Bearcats went undefeated, but lets face it, they didnt play anybody. The Big East is not a powerhouse conference and Cinci's out of conference play was really nothing to write home about. I'd probably take any other top ten team over them and probably even a couple three loss teams. I dont think most people expected them to take quite the beating they took from Florida, but I dont really think most people thought they'd win it either.

I understand its the "it" thing to do to support the little guy, and schools like Boise State and Utah have had success on the national level. Cinci lost to a 9-4 Virginia Tech team last year in their bowl game and didnt score after their first drive of the game. I dunno, I'm probly just ranting here but still, it kinda seems like some of these underdog teams are being so widely considered as underrated that they are becoming just the opposite

Cincinnati played without their mastermind Offensive Coach Kelly. How do you have 300+ post and I have never heard of you is the real question?

I understand that being without their head coach is a huge blow to the team, especially when its a Coach like Kelly who built the program from practically nothing but offense was only part of the problem...it wouldnt have mattered how amazing an offensive coach Kelly is, the defense got abused by Florida

Cincinnati finished undefeated...they earned the right to be in a BCS bowl, and at least have the chance to prove themselves as one of the nation's elite teams. Didn't work out that way, but hey...someone's gotta lose.

Yet if they won we'd have 7,000 threads about why there isn't a playoff and why an undefeated Cincy team didn't get a chance at the national title.

Him being there wouldn't have changed their penalties/dropped passes on 3rd down that led to their demise.

I would take you up on that offer . After watching both teams alot this year I never got the feeling that Cincy would be competitive v Florida . It was obvious to everybody that they have a horrible D and then I thought Floridas speed on D would help negate some of Cincys offense .

I didn't think it would be that big but I did put money on Florida -14

Virtually everyone knows how I feel about Cincy... this would've been a blowout regardless of whether or not Kelly is coaching.

I think they are going to reconsider it after this year or next. The Mountain West commish has been pushing real hard for an automatic bid and thus far they've done REAL well in the bowls so far, so they deserve mention or possible inclusion into the automatic bids.

I would probably support switching the MWC and the Big East for BCS conferences...if nothing else, they are, at the very least, equivalent if the MWC isnt better.

Even with Kelly, I dont think Cinci had a chance. Florida was way faster, Pike was under a lot of pressure and it was hurting his accuracy. All around, Cinci just looked overmatched. Not to mention, the offensive genius that is Brian Kelly couldnt figure out a way to put a single point on the board after their first drive against VT in their Bowl Game last year

The Cincy defense had no chance whatsoever against the Gators, especially with how on Tebow was last night. The Florida defense had something to prove after the SECCG, and they took care of business early.

Yeah, Brian Kelly or not, no one was stopping Tebow in his last college game.

Because Cincinatti was the first Top 5 team to get blown out in a bowl game?

Especially with all the crap they went through in the past month including losing their head coach and being coached by a guy who minutes after the game would be heading off to his next job.
