Thomas Dimitroff getting deals done. We really had to have Blalock back on the team. Blalock/Clabo locked up is huge for us. And now one of our younger guys get to claim the new RG spot alongside Clabo.

Now we just gotta bring in a CB (Kelvin Hayden) and maybe a RB, though I think the Falcons camp are pretty high on putting Gartrell Johnson right behind Quizz on the depth chart.. Also Grimes needs to sign that tender, though we will have all season to work out his new deal.

As we know, Chris Owens and Dominique Franks are in the midst of a battle for the nickelback spot. I heard that today at practice Owens tried to jam Julio at the line and swiftly ended up on his rear.

Think that'll be happening a lot to those little corners this season

He's had bad games we all remember, sure, but he's shown flashes at times. Both of his horrible games were when he had to step in during the game because of an injury. I think TD is holding out hope for the kid. But I think Dominique Franks is da future at the nickel spot for us for sure.

Matt Ryan singled out rookie Jacquizz Rodgers as a player who has caught his eye so far in Falcons camp.
"His knowledge of protections is really good," said Ryan. "He's gonna be the third-down back for us." Despite being a fifth-round rookie with no offseason, Rodgers will be thrust into a prominent role. Michael Turner adds nothing in the passing game, and the Falcons don't appear to be interested in retaining free agent Jason Snelling
