Just because a guy was average to bad with one team doesn't mean he is going to be bad with another just look at Dennis Erickson...oh wait...Comment

I'm pumped about Pete Carroll. Took the Patriots to the playoffs 2 out of 3 years. That's much better than NOT taking them to the playoffs. Plus it's been a while since he's coached in the pro's and I'm sure he's changed his coaching style a bit. I'm excited to see how this all works out.I give rep not thanks

Thank goodness. If you're going to rebuild, you might as well do it with #1 picks. Even though I don't anticipate that to happenI give rep not thanks

Carroll will be back to college within two years. If it is true that USC is about to have the hammer brought down on them and he wants to get out before that, he's going to be back coaching another college team like Saban in a year or two. This is an awful, stupid decision by the Seahawks, possibly worse than hiring Mora. There is a reason nobody hires college coaches anymore.Comment

Originally posted by LaheyI mean, look at some of the recent hires over the years and try and say they're better candidates than Carroll: Rahim Morris, Scott Linehan, Steve Spagnolo, Jim Schwartz, Jim Zorn, Tom Cable, Eric Mangini etc. It's not like there are a bunch of Vince Lombardi's, Chuck Noll's, Bill Walsh's etc available.Comment

Originally posted by LaheyWhy would those guys be better comparisons? Both of them quit on their teams and weasled their ways out of the NFL. Pete Carroll did not do that with either New York or New England.
Unlike Saban at LSU, Petrino at Louisville. And now Pete at So. Cal.
He'll be back once he realizes how much harder the NFL is, rather than reeling in top 10 recruiting classes every year at the college level.Comment
