Seahawks New Coach Mr. Pete Carroll

Pete Carroll has reached an agreement in principle with the Seahawks on a deal to be their next head coach, multiple NFL sources confirmed early Saturday morning.

Carroll was fully expected to be introduced by the Seahawks as early as Monday, assuming they comply with the Rooney Rule this weekend.

The hangup could be locating a candidate to interview that would put the Seahawks in compliance with the rule, which requires teams to interview a minority candidate for head-coaching and senior-football-operations hires.

And the fall of Troy has begun... this is going to impact their current recruiting class pretty heavily and pretty much guarantee Dillon Baxter to Michigan, and Seantrel Henderson to tOSU.

Also, a few USC juniors declared for the NFL today. McKnight was obviously gone. But, now there's gonna be a few others who are going to leave because of Carroll leaving.

Mike Riley is said to be the next coach at USC.

On the UGA forum they were talking about Prater coming to Athens now. I had no idea who he was, then saw he is from Illinois. Got a good laugh from that. Maybe if he was from the south I could see that.

I can't say I don't believe it cause after all the bullshit going on at USC it was only a matter of time before Carroll left.

Petey's infamous for throwing his underclassmen under the bus if they left early.

I hope he fails. I hate USC and love that they weren't that good this season and now they're losing their coach. The fall of troy is nice

I feel the worst for Matt Barkley. He just lost his coach, OC, top WR, top RB, and the top offensive recruits are all decommiting

So with the soon-to-be fall of the Uni. of Southern California in the works, the following teams are dancing naked in the streets:

                    The Entire Pac-10 Conference
                    Notre Dame
                    Michigan
                    Ohio St.
                    Oklahoma
Anyone else that might be on the Trojans' team schedule from now on

...that's a lot of naked dudes on Pete Carroll's head. :tee:

I like the hiring. He's a west coast guy, he has 60+ games as a HC in the NFL under his belt, and I think he can help the Seahawks win 6-8 games next year.

                            I love the haters.

If the NCAA cracks down on USC then USC will struggle the next couple of years, but I laugh at all of the people who are so joyfully talking about the "fall of Troy" beginning. You guys only hope so.

USC is a big time school and will attract big time coaches. This won't hurt them half as bad as some of you are acting like it will. Reports are already saying USC is going to target Mike Riley, Jack Del Rio, and Jeff Fisher. Doubt they get Fisher or Del Rio but if they can get 1 of those 3 they will be in great shape.

Rumors are throwing around names like Herm Edwards, Chris Petersen, Kyle Wittingham, and Ed Orgeron (please no) as well.

This will hurt this year's recruiting class but it's a speed bump that USC will get over by next year.
