They did get further. They made it to the NFC Championship game. Last year they were eliminated in the wild-card round. The team was much better this year than last year. I don't think thats even debatable. Should the Cardinals get rid of Warner since they didn't make it to the Super Bowl this year?

I think that if the Vikings keep the exact same team intact for 2010, they'll have a good chance to win the Super Bowl.

Warner/Cards offers no comparison in this situation.

No one claimed the Vikes didn't get better.

Minnesota did not make this move to get to the NFC title game. They did it because they were thinking SB or bust. & they busted.

      Failure.

Example. I'm a car racer. I know my car & crew, @ present, will never win a race. I'm having trouble reaching the top 5. So I reshape my team, change cars, throw the bank @ my organization, going for broke to finish 1st. And after that, I still finish 2nd in points. Now did I get better? Sure. but I didn't want to just get better. I wanted to win it all. That's why I made such a drastic change.

That same w/Minny. They put their entire training camp in disarray. They had tehir team divided over the whole thing. They changed their offensive philosophy. And they got better. But they still didn't win it all. That equals failure.

I agree that the Vikings envisioned Super Bowl ring when they got Favre, but I don't really know if I would classify it as "bust". One, they didn't really have to give up anything to get Favre...they weren't mortgaging their future for a "win now" mentality. Two, IMO there is a large degree of luck when it comes to winning the Super Bowl. The Patriots went 18-0 and lost. The Steelers have won it twice in the past few years, but IMO those weren't the best Steeler teams of recent vintage...they just got hot in the postseason.

The Vikings should remain strong contenders for next year.

Eh, I think they'll be in the thick of things, but unless they trade for McNabb or something, I think GB wins that division.

Is McNabb going to back up Favre?

I'm working under the assumption that your boyfriend is staying retired this time.

I know it can change. Hell, he probably already changed his mind 4 times in the last 24 hours.

That is true, he does change his mind a lot. One thing that he hasn't changed his mind on though is how good it felt to break his foot off in the ass of your boyfriend last Sunday.

The diff is the Vikes put their franchise under alot of stress & turmoil making these changes under the reasoning that it will all work out in the end because Brett will get them to the SB. It didn't happen. Thus, failure. Under normal circumstances, no way is a season one game short of the SB a failure. But in this case, it is.

That's a big assumption. W/the way his body took a beating this year & the fact he now has a year w/his teammates, I wouldn't be shocked if he tried to wait a game or 2 into 2010 before returning.

                    1 - That's gay.

2 - You're confused. If Romo were ever to do to the Cowboys what that punk bitch did to the Packers and went to play for the Redskins, Giants or Eagles, I damn sure wouldn't follow him like a whore, which is exactly what you did. I'm not gonna just quit rooting for a team that I've spent nearly 20 of my 25 years on this earth rooting for to go root for one of their biggest rivals simply because one of my favorite players jumped ship. If that were the case, I would have become a Cardinals fan in 2003.

You can say anything you want about my appreciation for Romo (way to make this about him again, BTW), but fact of the matter is it pales in comparison to what you've done in regards to Favre.

You, sir, are a fraud of a fan.

                    Good day.

Favre was the embodiment of the Packers. When it comes to packers fans, plenty only knew Favre at Qb. Packers fan = favre fan. You have no idea what packers fans went through when he left, the closest feeling i can think of is if a team relocates.

The people in baltimore still loved the colts, but they needed to adjust and start to love the ravens. Yet there were still people in baltimore who root for the colts.

So you're saying the Packers moved to Minnesota and metamorphed into their second most hated rival?

                          Gotcha
