Yeah you guys are simple if you cant see that this video is clearly edited to get a reaction. If you listen you can hear them talking about someone throwing something at the Jets fan.
Probably what happened is he was being loud and drunk doing that annoying ass Jets chant, some whiny Chargers fan chucked something at him and he retaliated somehow. Security saw him retaliate and arrested him. Thats just speculation but it's a hell of a lot more likely than "getting arrested for rooting for the Jets"
I hate cops too and he probably didn't do anything to bad but I'm sure he broke some rule.Comment

I'm not denying that those cops, or that cops in general are douchebags and overzealous but this video doesn't prove anything either way.
It's funny how everyone automatically assumes that the cops are in the wrong when it's obvious the clip is edited. For all we know the footage of the fan chanting JETS could've been from the 1st quarter while the rest of the footage could've been from the 4th. I think youtube lets you upload videos up to 10 minutes long, so why did the guy who made this video skip over the most important part? It was done intentionally and that makes the video suspect.Comment

Just because a portions cut doesnt mean it was cut to hide something. They could have just filmed, stopped, than filmed once more once shit started to hit the fan.
Edit: Upon second viewing thats what im gonna stick to because the way the camera pans from the stairs, (pointing downwards) it looks like whoever was filming had just pulled the camera out and began filming the incident.Last edited by Derrville; 01-19-2010, 03:13 AM.Comment

So then just show the part where he gets arrested, leave the first part off. By them showing him chanting Jets, then immediately cutting to him getting arrested it implies that he got arrested for cheering for the Jets. It even says in the video that description that "Jets Fans arrested at the Jets vs Chargers game for chanting Jets." It's misleading and the video does an awful job at proving that's what happened.
And he probably at least broke this rule: "There is a zero tolerance policy regarding public drunkenness, profanity, and offensive behavior" that Qualcomm stadium has. But the only thing we know for sure is that he did something that prompted someone to call security on him.Last edited by Bear Pand; 01-19-2010, 07:33 AM.Comment

Originally posted by glenwilletYeah, the guy who threw the cup at him probably alerted security and had him kicked out. That doesn't make it right. The people all sitting around him all said he wasn't doing anything so what makes the person who called security in the right, it just makes them the douche bag who couldn't handle another playoff collapse and had to call security to remove someone who was excited to be going to the AFC title game for the first time since 1998 I believe.
How many times do you think cop get called to someplace and arrest someone and there are jackasses standing around saying the guy didn't do anything? I would bet qutie a bit.Comment

Most of my experience is from Angel games because I go to 40-50 games a year and have seen a number of opposing fans get kicked out even though it was one of our guys who started the fight and went undetected by security. I bet one of the toughest places for someone like police or security to feel like they have any semblance of control is a professional sporting event. From an individual standpoint thought if I were that fan, seeing that video blow up the way it has would only make me more upset by the day.Comment

According to a copy of the code, drunk and "disruptive" fans can be ejected from stadiums or parking lots without refund — and stripped of their season tickets. The same goes for fans who verbally or physically harass other fans, use obscene language or gestures or interfere with the game by throwing objects onto the field. Fans who become drunk or unruly during pregame tailgating will not be allowed into stadiums.Comment
