Last I checked those are the rules Goodell instated so if you have a gripe, take it up with him not the police.

Resisting arrest is resisting arrest, whether the police were wrong or not. You do nothing but make more problems for yourself if you resist.

I still can't believe you guys are acting like this video shows everything. "omg all he did wuz chant jets and they swarmed in an arrested his azz" The video is obviously spliced and parts are blatently missing. There is no way to tell what is going on here. Maybe the chargers fan gave the upper deck the middle finger after he was hit by a beer and that's all the police saw?

If things are missing, we really can't speculate on that, and that's not our problem. What we CAN see, is a rowdy, admittedly, Jets fan resisting, what seemed like, an uncalled for arrest.

I realize the video is cut and all, but the Chargers fans [one of which was so enraged he ended up going outside with the police] WERE sticking up for the man, and that's a big indicator imo of his somewhat innocence.

You guys are acting like during the cut scene, the Jets fans was waving a gun around.

no, but according to the new NFL rules, even so much as waving a middle finger will get you ejected. Everyone in this thread has come in with the "fuck those pigs" "fuck the police" comments when they were 100% within their authority to remove the guy.

Edit: And furthermore, everyone in here for the guy is acting as if the guy just yelled jets, sat down, and then the police surrounded him and tackled him with no reason. It's not like the police go to a section and go "ok, that guy looks like a fag, let's get him!" They obviously had some reason to come to that section.

We're only commenting on what we see. You've explained the new NFL procedures, and we're well aware of it by now.

But we can only speculate on what we see. What we do see is him cheering his Jets, and then getting arrested for it. Cut scene or not, I don't see Chargers fans offering their support for the man if he was really any sort of out-of-control.

              Just my two cents.

And as explained in the NFL rules, him shouting Jets like that is grounds for an ejection. Even if nothing wrong did happen here, the police were 100% in the right here. They did everything as procedure tells them to do it.

Obviously the police aren't going to come to a section, especially not with 4 of them if there isn't a good reason too.

The police are only 100% in the right because the rules allow them too much leeway to make a decision like that.

I understand them taking him out for being "rowdy" I suppose; it probably just makes their job easier in the end, but the discretion allowed to these cops is more than debatable.

That's something to take up with Goodell then, not the police. How are you going to get mad at the police for following the law and doing their job?

Because clearly half of those police couldn't pass a physical test.

The same way everyone else does. Unfortunately, Goodell isn't the one getting the press for this, and the cops are.

May not be fair, but it happens.

Jets fans have no sense of humor. Seriously I got groaned more times from one comment in here than in my entire time on this board

It's funny how everyone automatically assumes that the cops are in the wrong when it's obvious the clip is edited. For all we know the footage of the fan chanting JETS could've been from the 1st quarter while the rest of the footage could've been from the 4th. I think youtube lets you upload videos up to 10 minutes long, so why did the guy who made this video skip over the most important part? It was done intentionally and that makes the video suspect.
I think it's funny how some of you are obviously assuming the cops are in the right when the video is edited and you don't see the guy do anything wrong.

Have you ever heard of the term innocent until proven guilty? Yet you, firstimer, and a few others, find the need to defend the cops no matter what even though you haven't seen the guy doing anything. Not only that, but you hear several fans telling the cops that the guy didn't do anything.

So now you have anonymous witnesses defending the jets fans. if this were to go to court, guarantee you all the charges against the jets fan would be dropped since he has witnesses (assuming they're willing to testify).

after all of that, that cop tries to tell that guy how to talk to him. sorry officer, but i can say whatever i want to you and you can't do a fucking thing about it. what are you going to do, arrest me for telling you that the guy you just arrested didn't do a fucking thing? L O L.

Maybe the fan did do something to get himself arrested, but we didn't see it, and we see an anonymous witness defending him. therefore, we have no grounds for accusations whatsoever. anyone defending the cops here is incredibly naive and sheltered.
