Grossman Fail of the Week (Broncos parting ways with Mike Nolan)

    FML.
Broncos announced the resignation of defensive coordinator Mike Nolan.
Nolan and head coach Josh McDaniels agreed to "mutually part ways," presumably over issues of control. Nolan was also surprisingly not pursued for any head jobs after coaching up a defense laden with mediocre talent. Nolan proved he still has a golden touch as a coordinator, transforming the NFL's No. 29 overall defense in 2008 into the seventh-best unit with just one season on the job. Nolan's loss is a crushing blow to Denver on paper. The Dolphins, Bears, and perhaps Patriots would be smart to begin hot pursuit.

Apparently Nolan wanted full control of the defense, and McDaniels didn't want to give up his involvement with the defense. The good news is that this means McDaniels had a lot to do with the turnaround of the defense in 2009, not just Nolan. Josh was originally a defensive coach in NE...

The Broncos deserve this, you never gave Moreno the award, so you owe them this...

Surely theres a pattern here? Cutler, Scheffler, Marshall, now Nolan?

What does McDaniels have to do before Bronco fans at least consider the fact that maybe he is a control freak and maybe, just maybe has a little bit (just a little bit) to blame for all these relationships in the Broncos locker room blowing up. At the moment he could probably piss on a Broncos jersey with Elways name on it and set fire to it on the 50 yard line and the Bronco fans would just blame Cutler.

I mean... come on, seriously? He was a Defensive Coaching Assistant, probably spent two years photocopying playbooks for the Defensive staff and bringing the players water during training camp.

Really Bill Belichick's best desciple is a control freak?

All the veterans on the team support Josh so...

Mike Nolan could easily be as much to blame with control issues as MCD, but coming up under Weis and BB doesn't bode well for him. Dean Pees is a terrible defensive coordinator by the way. Since he took over the defense got progressively worse in New England. An ole Nolan for Pees switcharoo sounds appeasing.

So? It was well none that McDaniels and Nolan worked together to create the defensive gameplan each week.

He should go back to being a disciple for a bit longer since it seems he skipped class and flunked the final exam. You seriously think Belicheck would have the two public shitstorms like we saw with Marshall and Cutler, or get into a power struggle with the guy who turned around his crappy offence?
