I believe Kevin Mawae is the first alternate at center for the AFC team and Jeff Saturday and Nick Mangold will both be playing in the AFC Championship this weekend. So that means unless Mawae has an "injury," he should be in the game as well.

Not to mention the Jets/Saints players who would skip out too. If you just lost out on a trip to Miami for the SB, is a trip to Miami for the Probowl really a good consolation prize?

Long term though it's a bad idea unless they start getting really strict about forcing players to go. They probably can't do that though.

The Pro Bowl is a waste of time and money. What's the point of an All Star game if half the players drop out? I'd say cancel it and replace it with an awards banquet.

A pro bowl in football is useless, always has been, just name the best players so they get there award and have a skills comp, no one wants to see football played like that

Lets have a Pro Bowl for boxing and MMA also, that would be great to watch!
