Signing Tulloch was the best thing we could do this FA period. Now to add a few more average players to the secondary.

Also, Backus isn't that good, but we weren't going to get much better unless we took risks on guys with injuries. This is probably the safest option.

Don't see the MJD trade happening simply cause I don't think we'll have enough cap to sign him longterm. I wish Detroit would have signed Michael Bush in the off-season when they had the chance to. I really don't think Mayhew is interested in Grant that much because he's been linked to Detroit for a couple of months now and yet nothing has happened.

Honestly, I really like the way Joique Bell has looked this pre-season and I hope we give him an opportunity. If not the RB's I've heard being thrown around that we're interested in, the one I could see happening would be a trade for the Saints Chris Ivory. I also heard Danny Woodhead's name being thrown around but I don't see Belicheck giving him up...although I would love to have Woodhead on the Lions.

Stafford has been unimpressive these first two games. He missed a wide open Pettigrew late in the 4th and ended up getting sacked. I mean Pettigrew was literally right in front of him.

That said, we were somehow in that game last night had we been able to stop the 49ers on one of three 3rd and longs. I knew we were bad in the secondary, but that was pathetic. Also, the d-line isn't doing enough to make up for the lack of a secondary.

The Lions are showing that avoiding defense at the top of the draft has major repercussions. People are claiming Mayhew is doing a good job as GM, but a lot of our first and second round picks in his regime aren't contributing and surely aren't helping defensively.
