    Interesting Perspective on Recruiting

Was looking over the blogs for National Signing day and seeing how NC State was looking recuitwise, and I got to looking at some of the stuff ESPN has about past recruiting classes. It kinda put things in perspective for my one how little the 3, 4 and 5 star ratings mean for this years class. check out the top 20 ESPN top 150 list for 2006. What ever happened to some of these guys?

1 Myron Rolle 94 Florida State S 6'3" 210 The Hun School Of Princeton (NJ)

    2 Percy Harvin 93 Florida WR 6'1" 188 Landstown H.S. (VA)

ESPN is a joke recruiting wise.

Tom Luginbill still thinks Terrelle Pryor is going to Oregon.

        Percy Harvin- LOL
Vidal Hazelton- Bust but still has a shot at starting at Cinnci this season.
        Andre Smith- top 10 pick
        Stafford- #1 Overall
Murray- Would have been a 1 or 2 this year but is returning for his senior season.
Kindle- Should be a 1 or 2 this year.
Taylor Mays- 1st round pick probably top 15 this year.
Micah Johnson- Went to kentucky and was first team all sec last season
Antwine Perez- went to SC then transferred back home to Maryland. BUST

        A) ESPN rankings were absolute garbage in 2006 as they very loosely covered recruiting and have just recently stepped up to an adequate level.
        B) In the top 10 your looking at 8 sure fire NFL players with two misses.
        C) I'm 2 lazy to go through the rest.
USC and Perez will start this year.

I'm a personal fan of Rivals recruiting but I also like Scouts.

Just like in The NFL, some prospects never live up to their potential.

            oh?

Thought SC was South Carolina Gamecocks.

Anywho, Antwine played SS for us, saw some time at FS and OLB.

He'll be a starter this year with the departure of Terrell Skinner.

In South Carolina, they're known as USC.

The civilized world knows them as the team that sounds like a dick.

University of South Carolina was a college before California was a state.

                USC is located in Columbia.

                      God damn it!

University of South Carolina was founded in 1801

The State of California was made part of the union in 1850

                      End of discussion.

Outside of South Carolina, no one refers to the University of South Carolina as USC.

If I say USC, I'm referring to the University of Southern California.

I'm aware of this...doesn't change the fact that USC is located in California.

::shrug:: That's just the way it is. Ask anyone in the country what USC's team name is, and I promise that 99% will respond with the Trojans.
