Are Bucs Trying to Trade Up For Suh?

    From GBNReport

Top pick trade buzz … Hard to know where its coming from exactly, but there are some quiet rumblings that Tampa Bay might be tempted to try and acquire the #1 pick at the 2010 draft from St. Louis in order to select Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh. The Buccaneers have the 3rd pick this coming April and, with 10 picks overall including 5 in the first 100 picks this spring, have some ammunition to possibl make something happen. Meanwhile, the Rams very well could be talked into moving down, either to select a QB with a lower pick, or simply acquire extra picks to try and fill the team’s myriad of needs.

I wouldn't trade up for Suh. They'd be giving up too much for a guy who may be a 13 year starter but has limited potential. They are better off hoping Detroit takes Eric Berry and lets Gerald McCoy fall to them

Agreed. There hasn't been a team with the top pick that has successfully convinced another team to trade up since 2001 (don't even remind me who it was for, fuckers). Now with the way the pay slots work out teams are costing themselves more millions. Every year the team with the top slot says they would be open to trading down and every year they are stuck there.

Besides, Berry is arguably the best player in the draft. Might as well just wait, McCoy might be there at 3 and if he isn't, there will be another talented interior lineman available when the 2nd round comes back to them.

I doubt this would happen but St. Louis would enjoy it.

            Too good to be true.

I'll have to suffer through yet another ''sure thing.''

I agree, stay at #3 and get Berry then pick up Price/Cody or another DT in the second round.

Rams are about 15 players away from being decent. The more picks the better. Suh seems to be the can't miss guy this year, but drafting linemen in the first round every year doesn't seem to be working so well.

I still can't see the Rams passing on Clausen/Bradford .. neither guy may be the Matt Ryan, Mark Sanchez type.. but when you are fixing to start Craig Null - that doesn't really matter.

When you have been as miserable a franchise as the Rams have for the past several years, you take a QB to begin the rebuilding process. They have their hopeful franchise tackle (Jason Smith), Suh is a nice player but will he really win games for them? I don't think so. They NEED a QB. That's why Clausen or Bradford will be the pick.. depending on who has the better offseason.

Maybe the Rams can trade back and still get Clausen or Bradford? :dontknow:

The last thing I want is a QB. None of them impress me much, and blowing a high first rounder on a QB sets back a franchise a decade.

Suh is the obvious pick--the only pick. He's as close to "can't miss" as anyone over the last 10 to 15 years.

Besides, no QB can succeed on this team right now, especially a rookie who will get eaten alive and possibly never develop. Bulger is still under contract, assuming he dosen't retire, let him play it out, draft Suh, and keep building the team from the inside out.

But at the end of the day, Spagnuolo is a complete fucking idiot, so whatever they do end up doing will be wrong.

Yeah, but I dont see how Adam Carriker or Damione Lewis not working out has any bearing on how Suh turns out. The past is the past.

Chris Long looked like a beast the second half of the year, but I think I was the only one watching and I could have very well been a figment of my imagination.

I think it would be great for both teams.

There's no doubt St. Louis would love to do this deal, I just question how willing they will find the Bucs as suitors. Been very hard for teams to trade down from the top pick lately.

What would be great is Suh joining Chris Long, Leonard Little, and Carriker so Spags has the monster d-line he needs to run his shitty scheme that never gets pressure from the blitz.
