Colts’ Polian critical of offensive line, special teams

Polian is a true asshole. Teams he built are like 1-5 in Superbowls while he does build great teams something about his approach is off.
He's the one responsible for building that o-line. He's the one responsible for having Hank Baskett who fucked up on special teams on the roster. Hopefully his whining means he's realized some things need to be changed.
Also I'd love to see Indy's special teams "specialists" (the coach, TJ Rushing, Matt Stover, Adam Nougatieri, CHad Simpson and Hank Baskett) get thrown into a lake of fire.Last edited by Bear Pand; 02-11-2010, 05:57 PM.Comment

Alot of fans seem to be blaming Polian and bringing this up. I don't see it to be honest. He didn't make Norwood miss that feild goal in Buffalo nor did he make Peyton Manning lock on Reggie and get picked by Porter. Those Buffalo teams played the Cowboys twice [who were pretty damn good] and Washington who came into that game 16-2 if I remember correctly. I do think Polian has some flaws but to mention his sb record as if it's all on him is a little unfair to meComment

I don't think he can call out the o-line since he built it. Polian is one of the best drafters in the NFL but his weakness is the o-line and dt's. He messed up on lots of draft picks on the o-line and ended up having to fill the o-line with bums basically [Bums as in players nobody wanted] . Those bums do a pretty good job too... Saturday was an UDFA, Johnson was a 6th round pick, DeVann was in the Arena 2 League a few years back and so on.Comment

I hope this actually makes him do something about it instead of moaningComment

I agree. He drafted Brown this off-season becuase he felt like Addai was underperforming without seeing that it was the o-line that was messing up not Addai. I thought he might have finally saw the light when he benched Ugoh and Pollak.

... maybe the O-Line looked bad because Peyton didn't want to call rushing plays in the second half. To be fair, they were only averaging 5 ypc on the ground, Peyton had to try and carry the team on his shoulders.Comment

Like I said I thought the o-line had one of it's better games in the superbowl. They have played awful all year as a unit when it comes down to run blocking [been fine for pass blocking].Comment

I'll never understand that. Sometime this week I heard on Mike-and-Mike that "Addai looked good, but most of his yardage came in the first half."
Sometimes I wonder if these fuckers even watch the games... In the second half he didn't get but a few touches. Get that BULLSHIT outta here. Haha.Comment

At least he calls his own plays. That's what seperates him in my mind. Fuck the stats. The rules are set-up so QBs can have major stats (see David Garrard, Jason Campell, ... Matt Schaub). I like when QBs show they have the cerebral strength to call their own plays.Comment

The problem with the Colts is the way their big runs came about. It's not like they were just lining up and really trying to rush it down the Saints' throat in the first half. It was more like "hey they're lined up in this D let me audible to a shotgun draw!"
Maybe Peyton failed to recognize these situations in the second half or whatever but still. The Colts were #2 in the league in passing attempts, and #31 in rushing attempts. They had been playing that way all season, they abandoned the run back in training camp. I don't know if that's the o-line's, Peyton's, Addai/Brown's or the coaches' fault but they need to figure it out next year.Last edited by Bear Pand; 02-11-2010, 06:48 PM.Comment

That is true but I think if he gets credit for calling his own plays he deserves some criticism for giving up on the run earlyLast edited by Archer; 02-11-2010, 06:50 PM.Comment
